"I'm so proud of you guys," Yaku said, smiling as they walked out the locker room soon after their win against Nohebi.
"Just like the mother cat that you are," Kuroo laughed, patting his teammate on his head. "You helped us a lot, Yaku... thank you for that."
He smiled, not knowing how to reply, and then turned to Lev, who braced himself for insults. "Lev..."
"H-hai?"
"You did well."
"I'm sorry I had to block like that, I'm sorry I had to get you injured, I---wait. What?"
The half-Russian blinked in surprise, his eyes growing wide.
"Even if you were still shaky," Yaku smiled, "you did well. I believe you deserve praise for that. Shibayama, as well---your recieves weren't half bad."
The younger libero's eyes lit up considerably, grateful to be acknowledged by the person, the team member, that he looked up to so much. "Th-thank you!"
"Sou da ne. Not only Lev and Shibayama, actually. Fukunaga, and Yamamoto, and Kenma, and everyone else on the bench, even though you didn't get to play today. Us third-years owe you thanks for getting us to the nationals," Kai agreed, nodding.
The other first and second-years looked at each other and smiled, all of them thinking the same thing: they were mainly doing this for the third-years, after all.
With their eyes sharing the same gratitude, the same excitement, and the same relief, they grinned at their senpais. "Ossu!"
"Ne, Yaku-san, are you okay now?" Kenma spoke next, peering at him from behind Kuroo. "There's still time to see the last performance."
Yaku promptly looked at Kuroo, who frowned, a little skeptical because of his injury.
(spoiler end here)
But, the captain knew how much it would mean to Cosette if he came to watch her.
"Fine, you can go... but," he smiled, "we'll be coming with you."
"Eh? Where?" Inouka tilted his head.
With Kuroo, Kenma, and Naomi being the only ones knowing about Yaku's and Cosette's current relationship, the others were clueless.
"The music club's performance in the contest," Yaku said finally, after a careful choice of words.
"Ano..." Kenma lightly scratched his cheek. "The drama-club's performance is after that, right? Can we... stay for that, too?"
"Of course. I wouldn't want to miss Naomi's showcase of acting ability, as well."
She was always good at it, after all.
"Yeah..."
"Konimi-senpai is a good singer?" Shibayama asked curiously, for some sort of confirmation.
