just a few words before you start reading::

i thought up many ways to make this epilogue, and eventually settled with this?? some of you might kill me for it but okay firST OF ALL. this ship here was actually an original plan, from the very beginning. it is not a last-minute fix (kudos to people who realized that bc i did drop in hints xD). and also, i feel like, since this is like after high-school and all, it shows cosette's growth the most since it isnt through her own eyes, but others'.

and other than that, there are no specific dedications for this, but instead i'd like to dedicate it to all my readers and supporters of this story as a way of thanks. love you <3

epilogue

There was a knock on the hotel room, and Naomi got up to open it.

"Cosette-chan~! You came!" her eyes widened with happiness as she brought her friend into a tight hug.

"...of course I did. I'm the maid of honor, aren't I?" Cosette pulled away, a nostalgic smile on her face. "It's great to see you again."

Naomi scanned her appearance, a little taken aback. It had been years since they'd seen or spoken to each other; each one was busy with their lives, and hadn't found enough time.

But Cosette looked... different. Of course that would have been inevitable, seeing as the last time they had really seen each other was high-school, but, her aura had somewhat... changed. In addition to, of course, her hair change.

"Ah! You cut your hair!" she exclaimed.

The blonde had, indeed, cut her hair a little above shoulder-length, and, now that she was free of her braid, her visible curls framed her face almost delicately.

Though her signature multi-colored highlights were cut off, it seemed to Naomi that the colors had, more or less, transferred to her personality.

Yeah, that must be it; why she feels different...

Glancing behind her friend, she caught sight of a familliar redhead and brunette approaching. "Ayame-chan, Seira-chan!"

"Ohayo, Naomi-tan, Cosette-tan~!"

"G'morning, you two!"

"Hisashiburi!"

The four girls hugged, reminiscing in their high-school memories.

"I couldn't believe it when you gave us the invite," Ayame smiled, pulling away from the group hug as they were ushered inside, Naomi closing the door behind them.

"Yeah, we've lost contact for years..." Seira rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. "I'm glad Tetsurou gave you my number."

"Sou da ne... I was really happy when you called me. Morisuke was, too. I missed you---no, all of you."

Naomi's eyes lit up at the warm and gentle look on Cosette's face---it was a big change from what she was used to.

Mori-kun... Really changed her, huh?

"Say..." Ayame tilted her head, surveying the room. "Where's the groom?"

"Ah..." A flustered smile was on her face. "Well, he went with Kuroo-kun to check on the garden set-up. Soshite... we're going to change when we get the dresses here, so..."

With that comment, the girls were reminded that Naomi hadn't chosen a traditional Japanese ceremony.

"Oh! That's right---in western culture, it'd be bad-luck for him to see the bride's wedding-dress before the actual wedding, right?"
