Third Person
"So..." Yaku's voice trailed off as the theatre door clicked shut behind them.
This is way too awkward... it shouldn't be, but it is, he thought warily.
"I just... really don't get it," Cosette let out a sugh of exasperation. "Love is so... complicated."
"Yeah," he muttered, "definitely."
Cosette glanced at the third year, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. It wasn't her place to ask, but she couldn't deny the fact that she wanted to know just who Yaku might be in love with. Or might have previously been.
"Well, do you want to go anywhere...?" the libero cleared his throat.
"Not particularly, no."
Yaku held in a sigh. She's so hard to communicate with...
"Oh, alright, just kidding," Cosette rolled her eyes almost playfully, seeing his exasperated state. "I-I guess... I don't know, out of campus seems like the only option at the moment... Kaito-sensei gave us permission, anyway..."
Yaku paused for a moment, then his eyes lit up, and he snapped his fingers. "It's cherry blosom season! Have you heard of those festivals Japan hosts?"
Cosette looked away quietly. "Yeah... I never got to go to those."
"Really!?"
"W-well... my parents were always busy during that time, and I..." Cosette's voice dropped to a lower volume. "...didn't have any friends to ask me to go with them... or anything..."
Yaku's eyes widened with realization. That's why... she said she was left in Tokyo...
He cleared his throat, and she absentmindedly turned to him.
"D-do you, maybe... um... want to go... with me this year...? T-today, if that's alright... you know... since we have time a-and all..."
Cosette blinked, surprised, as a small, but nonetheless barely visible, blush crept up to her cheeks.
"I-I mean! You know! N-not like as a couple or anything?!" Yaku coughed loudly. "J-just... so you can see it..."
The third-year libero looked away, blushing, as he mentally slapped himself.
Oh, geez, was that too straightforward?
"That's really nice of you, Yaku-san," Cosette smiled a little. "I'd love to, yeah."
And Yaku let out a sigh of relief, looking back at the blonde with a sheepish smile.
"And so, um... I take it we're supposed to get to know each other a little more..." Yaku glanced beside him as they walked to the gate. "Is that alright?"
Cosette's green eyes met his brown ones, and it was all she could do to keep herself from laughing.
A small pfft escaped her lips, and the libero tilted his head.
I guess he realized how closed off I am. It's kind of sweet that he thought of asking me first...
"I'm alright with it, yeah," Cosette smiled a little, though she glanced away in an attempt to hide it. "I guess it's kind of overdue... maybe..."
Yaku smiled, a little hope laced into his expression, as he hailed a taxi, telling the taxi driver their destination.
"Ah! For the Hanami? Of course, I'll take you two there."

Cosette exhaled slowly as they stepped into the park. "Oh my gosh," she whispered, seeing the countless number of cherry-blossom trees scattered around the park.
