(a/n: Warning: anxiety attack)

You swallowed thickly as you felt the room closing in on you. You wished you hadn't come to this stupid party. Too many people. You quickly left the room unaware of the eyes that were on you. Steve frowned slightly as he saw you leave. His brow furrowed in confusion. He sat and talked with people, waiting for you to come back. When you didn't, Steve excused himself and slipped out of the room.

He made his way up to your room where he found you on your bed with your head down between your knees. "Y/N? You okay?" You couldn't answer as you struggled to catch your breath. Steve was at your side in an instant. He'd seen this happen with you before so he knew what he needed to do. He sat down next to you and began rubbing small circles on your back.

"Y/N, breath with me. Inhale...Exhale," he cooed softly. He forced you to sit up and placed one hand on your chest and the other on your back. He continued to breath with you until you'd calmed down. When your breathing had settled down and you could look at Steve clearly, he gave you a smile. "You okay now?" You nodded and returned the small smile. In a soft voice, you said, "Too many people this time."

Steve nodded in understanding and gave you a pat on the back. "Why don't we just stay here then and watch a movie or something? I'm not really in the mood to party either," he suggested. You looked at your best friend and smiled. Steve was always there, just like a brother and you knew you could count on him to help you through anything.
