(WARNINGS: mentions of an attempted shooting. Nothing actually happens)

Peter cursed himself. Of course that would be the morning he'd forget his suit. From his seat in the classroom, he could see the man on the roof of the building across from the school. He had a gun and that never boded well. He didn't know that someone else was paying attention as well.

Your hand shot up. The teacher gave you a pointed look. "May I go to the restroom?" you asked and the teacher nodded. You thanked them and got up, passing by Peter's desk on your way out. Peter felt you slip something onto his desk and his brows furrowed. Now wasn't the time for that, not even from his newest crush. Still, he'd always been too curious for his own good. He carefully opened the note that you'd left him.

Get out of there any way you can, Spiderman. I can't do this alone.

Peter's eyes widened. How did you know? It only took him a second to shake himself from his thoughts and find an excuse to leave the classroom. He may not have had his suit, but he still had his webs and he was going to use them. He ran down the halls as quickly as he dared and soon caught up with you.

"Ready?" His brows furrowed, but he nodded. You noticed his confusion and you smiled a little. "We'll talk later. Right now we have a job to do." The two of you raced outside. You both glanced at the opposite roof. The shooter hadn't finished getting ready yet, or maybe he was waiting for a specific time. Either way, time was running out and you knew it.

"Can you get me up there with you?" you asked. Peter's arm was shaking as he wrapped it around you. It was as if he were afraid of you. "Come on, Parker! I'm not going to hurt you." Peter started moving a bit quicker and soon you were both on the opposite roof, right behind the wannabe shooter.

The shooter was setting up his gun, but Peter shot a web, snatching it away. The shooter turned around, his eyes wide with fear, but he relaxed when he saw you. "You're just a couple of kids." You glared. "Why don't you come over here and find out how much of a kid I am?" The threat in your voice was clear, but the man didn't catch it. He advanced quickly, but not quickly enough.

You side-stepped his movement and brought your elbow down into his back. Then, you turned just right to kick him so he hit the concrete of the roof. For a moment, Peter just stared at the sight before him, but then he sprang into action. The man got up again and Peter used a web to stick his feet to the roof. "Nice shot," you said.

The man fought against the webs, breaking them slowly but surely. You rolled your eyes and sighed. "I'm already bored." You grabbed the man's arm and swung yourself up so you were sitting on his shoulders. Using your thighs, you brought the man to his knees. That was a move Peter had only seen one other person use. Once the shooter sank into unconsciousness, you let go of his neck and Peter used his webs to tie him up tightly.

"Nice team work, Parker." Peter smiled at you. "How'd you know? About me I mean?" You laughed. You weren't surprised at his confusion. Technically, you were the new girl in school and you hadn't known anyone all that long. "Mr. Stark told me." Peter's jaw dropped. "You know Mr. Stark?" You nodded. "Of course. I know all the Avengers. In fact-" You were cut off by the sound of the Iron Man suit. You both looked up to see Tony coming toward you, holding Natasha in his arms.

Both Avengers dropped gracefully onto the roof. "You okay, kiddos?" Tony asked. Peter nodded, but you didn't get a chance. "Why didn't you wait for us?" Natasha snapped. "We were running out of time! I couldn't sit and wait, Mom." Peter looked between you and Natasha. "Mom? Black Widow is your mom?" You smiled a little.

"Yeah, she adopted me when I was little after my parents were killed. Until recently, I've been hiding away." It was a lot of information to take in for the teenage. He was silent for a few minutes, trying to process the fact that the new girl was the daughter of an Avenger.

"So, why are you here now?" he finally asked. You exchanged a glance with Tony and Natasha. "They put me in the school to keep an eye on you. To protect you if necessary. I've been training most of my life. You've only been Spiderman for a little while." Tony crossed his arms over his chest. It looked funny considering he was still wearing the suit. "Yeah and then the two of you go taking on a potential shooter by yourselves."

"Hey, we're alive, aren't we? And we stopped the guy from shooting anyone. I'd say that's a win. Right, Peter?" Peter held up his hands in a gesture of peace. "Nuh-uh, leave me out of this one. I'm not getting into it with Iron Man and Black Widow." You giggled. "You're lucky you're cute, Peter." Natasha rolled her eyes. "Enough of that. Let's go." Tony and Natasha picked up the webbed shooter and carried him between them inside the building while you and Peter followed behind.
