We touched down in the afternoon, New Orleans and departed the plane for the dressing rooms. Where as soon as I sat down and relaxed I fell asleep.
"Brooke, Brooke sweetie wake up" I moaned opening my eyes. Danny was leaning over me with a gentle smile on his face.
"What? What's going on?" I asked
"You fell asleep. Is an hour and half before the show... Henley says you need to get ready" I nod sleepily and sit up.
"I got some coffee for you"
"Humm, I love you Danny" I grinned feeling the caffeine take effect.
"I love you too" I went and sat and my dressing table and he took his place where I once sat. It wasn't unusually for him to play with his deck of cards while I got ready I brushed my hair into a smooth pony tail then slipped my tube top on before going back to my hair and curling it.
I the slipped into my dip hem skirt before doing my make up in the smoky yet natural effect. Slipping a chucky black ring on i the put my high black wedges.
"My lady" I laughed as Danny held my cropped blazer helping me out it on before leaving for the green room there was about 10 minutes before the show and I was getting fitted with my microphone.
"Jack come here" I gestured him to come over which he did.
"When are you going to ask Henley out?" I whisper
"I...I don't know what you mean."
"Oh, come off it it's so clear you like her." he blushes a deep red. I put my hands on his shoulder.
"Jackie you are like a little brother to me and I want to see you happy. So grow a pair and ask her out."
"Pardon the intrusion." I turned round to see, Thaddeus Bradley stood in the room.
"Just wanted to wish you good luck for tonight."
"No you didn't, your here to try and expose us magic for your website" I fold my arms
"TV, DVD and On Demand" Jack finished with a scowl.
"Yes, that's true." he confirmed
"Well, the key word is try also meaning never going to happen." Henley smirked
"What because you have the back up of this so called 'eye'" I shuffled a bit how did he know about the eye I stiffened back up
"Even if the Eye did exist its obvious you wouldn't be involved am I right cause that's the whole reason you 'debunk' because you never had the talent like us. Oh I can read you, your little kid wanting so bad to be a magician. Big stages sell out performances but you were stuck to the streets messing things up." Merritt stated
"Good for nothing has been" I smiled
"Before you go" Daniel stood up from his seat "I'm working on something new do you have a second " Thaddeus nodded
"OK, pick a card."
"King of Hearts." he replied
"Knew it." Mer called I took his arm and rubbed it. Danny took the deck he was holding snapped his fingers, shook it.
"Honey, blow on this for me" I did so
"It's up your left sleeve" Bradley smirked thinking he upped one on us we looked in his left sleeve
"No, no it isn't I don't see it up there" we all agreed "why don't you check your unnecessary velvet pocket there" he looked down and the smug facade went away as he took it out and looked at it. Two simple word were written on it.
'Suck It'
"Thank you, so much for coming but this is a kind of talent zone only so..." I giggled as he threw the card
"break a leg" with that he left
"Eh you break something too." Merritt called at the retreating figure.
