9. Flight From Phoenix Drop

Y/n's POV

It was the day after our spa day. Jeffory had admitted that the boys had tried to bribe him into spying on us as well, but he knew I was going to be there, so he declined.

Me and him were grooming the horses for fun when we heard running footsteps. I looked up from one of the horses to see Dante and Garroth running past the gates and straight to where Aphmau Was talking with Katelyn.

I started after them, and Jeffory followed. We burst inside just as Dante and Garroth were catching their breath. Aphmau was telling them to sit down, and Katelyn saw us and motion for us to come closer.

"Dante, what in the name of Irene happened? And where's Laurance?" Aphmau asked worriedly. "There were...O'khasis guards...." Dante puffed. "O'khasis?!" Katelyn cried in disbelief. "Why would they be here?!" "They said....they wanted...Y/n and Jeffory..." Garroth said.

I turned to face Jeffory. "They know we escaped the Nether," I exclaimed. "All of us need to evacuate Phoenix Drop NOW," Aphmau declared. "Dante, Garroth, Katelyn, round up all the villagers and get them to the island. Lilith Garnet, Zoey, and Isabell are already there with Travis. Y/n, Jeffory, board one of our ships and get out of here." Jeffory nodded. "I know this isn't a good time, but if like to thank you for your hospitality," He said. Aphmau nodded. "Good luck," she said, running out the door with Dante and Garroth.

Katelyn quickly hugged me and Jeffory. "Stay safe or so help me I will punch some sense into you," she said with tears in her eyes. Jeffory nodded and we followed her outside.

First we dashed to the treehouse to gather our things. I grabbed my music box and Jeffory gathered his glaive.

After we got everything we sprinted to the docks. To our dismay, huge red O'khasis ships were already started to gather at the shore. "What about that one?!" Jeffory yelled over gunfire. I turned to see a large boat with a billowing blue sail on the docks. It looked used. "That one? That's garbage!" I yelled back, aiming for a slightly smaller one at the end of the docks. Then, it suddenly exploded into chips of wood, and I was thrown to the ground.

I panted for a second. "The garbage it is," I huffed and we jumped on board. Jeffory steered while I kept the large ships and bay with my bow and arrow I got from my relic. We quickly exited Phoenix Drop's dock and we headed away. The O'khasis ships were harder to maneuver then our ship, so we easily lost them in the light morning mist.

I went up to sit by Jeffory as he steered the boat. "So, where should we go?" I asked. Jeffory turned the steering wheel slightly. "Narhaka has a strict alliance with  O'khasis, so we can't find any help there...maybe Scaleswind? I hear that Aphmau's good friends with the Lord."

I nodded. "Let's go."

We reached Scaleswind by noon. We steered the ship into the docks and got off. We walked through the village and a guard directed us to the Lord's house. We knocked on the door and were greeted by....a kid.

"Hey, who are you?" He asked. I realized he was the kid in the hay bale I had seen when I first got to Phoenix Drop. He was like a miniature Dante, but with gray eyes.

He must of recognized me as well, because his eyes widened. "Hey, you're the people from Phoenix Drop! The ones that came from the Nether, right?"

"Dmitri, stop bothering them."

The kind but strict voice came from a woman coming down the stairs into the main room. She had wine-red hair that tumbled over her shoulder like a waterfall, gray eyes like the kid's, and gray goggles on top of her head. She pushed Dmitri out of the way and smiled at us. "Hello, how can I help you?" She asked.

"We've come from Phoenix Drop," I said. "O'khasis attacked because we're kind of escaped hostages, but Aphmau sent us for shelter." The woman nodded. "If Aphmau sent you, then I know that's important. I'm Lord Nicole, but please call me Nicole. This is my son, Dmirti. If you've been to Phoenix Drop, then you know his father, Dante."

"Wait, if Dante's Dmirti's father, than does that mean--" I started to say. Nicole rolled her eyes in a playful way. "Yeah, I know he's married to Kawaii~Chan, but he only found out that Dmirti was his son recently. It's kind of complicated." I laughed. "I'm Y/n, and this is Jeffory." Nicole beckoned us inside. "Come, I'll show you to your rooms."

A/n: is it possible?! TWO CHAPTERS IN ONE DAY?! Lol there's gonna be plenty more updates today since I'm sitting around doing nothing cause of my surgery XD I'm also gonna Watch Netflix And Chill
