i am aware that you guys don't care about the trio so i'm publishing the next few chapters at once, just so you know

"he's in our lunch period," jesse says after gym class. their voice is soft, but it breaks through nicholas' thoughts anyways. "he sits with tyler and connor and lana."

"which lana?" lucas asks curiously, swinging their interlocked hands between them. "waters or del rey?"

"waters. del rey is in the period after us."

lucas blinked. "really?"

nicholas turned around to face the two of them - jesse almost tripping over their feet at the sudden movement. "have you seriously not noticed that?"

"look, not all of us have the time to memorize the schedules of everyone in our grade."

"i have never memorized anyone's schedule, i don't know what you're talking about," nicholas protests.

"except mine. and jesse's. and - "

"okay, yeah," jesse interrupts. "as i was saying, he's in our lunch period. he's cute. you should talk to him, nicholas."

"shut it, jesse. i am not lonely enough to go after a boy i have exchanged exactly two words with."

"keep telling yourself that, nickie," lucas said.
