We soon arrived at the mall. Me and Adrian wandered around for a bit, occasionally stopping at shops we liked. It felt like I finally got to know the Adrian underneath all that beautiful appearance. And that Adrian I saw today was a really nice, down to earth one.
At around 6 o'clock, me and Adrian went to the outside area of the mall, which was decorated with exotic plants, and ornate fountains.
Adrian spotted a fancy looking chocolate bar, which had laughter, and joyful sounding chatter coming from the inside.
"Two large triple chocolate milkshakes, and 2 strawberry chocolate fondue. That's all thanks." I heard Adrian order from the front of the line. I rummaged through my purse, coming across a few crisp 5 dollar bills, and I slid them across the counter. Adrian looked at me as if I was I was crazy.
"What is this?" He said, with a curl of a smile on his face.
"It's money, what do you think?" I sassed.
He slid it back to me."I'm not letting you pay for this, you know." He said, smirking. I opened my mouth to speak, but he shushed me down.
"Just let me pay this once." He smiled.
As we sat down near the fountains, indulging in the delicious chocolate foods, I stared up at the beautiful sky above. I closed my eyes, and took in all the sights and sounds around us. It really was a memorable evening. My little moment was interrupted when Adrian gasped, and palmed his face.
"I cannot believe I forgot about the movies!" Suddenly I remembered, we were supposed to see a movie, at what is supposed to be one of the best cinemas in New York.
"We can still go check if it's open right?" I asked hopefully.
"Well then hurry up! " And we ran to the find the cinema, which by the time we got there was already closing.
"Damn!" Adrian wheezed. We had ran a lot. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a loud noise and bright lights in my periphery. I gave Adrian a devious look. Next to me was an arcade, and it looked glowing, as it basically beckoned me to come.
"I suppose we can go for 1 hour, we don't have much to do before dinner- " Before he finished he's sentence, I had already run ahead.
The next hour was a blur. It was fun- no, fun is an understatement as we nailed every game. Back in my old town, My friends and I used to go to the arcade every chance we got. But I had never seen anything like this!
"That was just awesome! Why did I not come to The City sooner" I said, trying to carry my load of prizes from the arcade.
"If you think this is awesome, just wait until you taste the food" Adrian snickered. Soon we walked out of the mall, and started walking towards the waterfront, where there were many restaurants.
"How about... that one?" He pointed at a very expensive looking restaurant with elaborate candles and tables.
"You must be kidding me. Maybe ... oh, that place!" I looked at a Pizzeria which had a delicious smell coming from it.
"Whatever you want." Adrian shrugged.
After we ordered a garlic prawn pizza, Adrian and I sat on the edge of the wharf, our legs dangling down to the sea. By now it had gotten dark, and tonight the sky was clear of any cloud. Above us were millions of bright stars. There was a slight breeze, but that made everything so much more lovely.
We ate in silence for a while, until I spoke.
"Have you ever been here before?" I asked.
"Yeah. I have actually, with Taylor" He said lost deep in thought.
I patted him on the back "We will find them you know,"
"I don't even know anymore, I'm really starting to doubt it." He replied.
There was little conversation on the train home. Adrian just stared out the window the way back.
"Adrian? Thanks, alot for tonight. It was great. And remind me to pay you back soon." I said as he dropped me off at my house.
"Hey, it was on me. Don't worry about it. Goodnight Sky." He smiled. I closed the door.
"Goodnight Adrian." I sighed as I sank down the door.' Tomorrow was back to the real world.
