Adrian's face went pale. Neither of us knew what to think. A voice came out of Taylor I never thought I'd hear on her. She let out a cold, cruel laugh when she saw our ghostly faces.

But I had fast reflexes and reached to the side of me to find a baseball bat I kept, and I lunched towards her. I aimed to catch her off guard, but it was like she could read the future and quickly blocked what could have been a powerful blow.

After digesting what exactly was happening, Adrian came back to his senses and came to my aid. The crossing lady was nowhere to be found. But that split second I looked around, Taylor took advantage and threw a punch at my head. For a moment everything went dizzy, and when I reached up to my head and brought it down, red was stained all over my fingers. But I shook it off and went to Adrian, who was fighting a clearly losing battle.

Adrian didn't have the kind of mental strength I had, and he could hardly look at Taylor. Adrian soon realized this and went to the kidnappees on the chairs who were now with mouths open wide, as if they saw a ghost.

When Taylor looked back, it was a big mistake for her, because I had regained my strength and was barging at Taylor at high speed. Taylor slumped to the ground as soon as the bat went to her head. Taylor would awake soon, so Adrian, using his quick fingers had released the captives and was now heading towards the front entrance. I saw a flicker of fire and the crossing lady emerged from the dark, holding a fire torch. She lit a big pile of hay and gestured towards me to evacuate with the captives. Did she just...... light that on fire?

I fled the building just in time to see it go up in flames. We stood in front of the building. I could see the reflection of trauma in Adrian's eyes. He looked at me, eyes wet full of tears and hugged me. Was Taylor left in there? A sick feeling churned inside of me.

The police came almost immediately , and I was left to explain, as Adrian had passed out, and Mr Donovan, Ryan and the other girl were in shock. The police were surprisingly understanding and comforting. But the crossing lady had vanished.

And finally, heart beating loudly against my chest, unable to digest what exactly had happened, I got to go home. On the car ride home, I saw a flash of a fluro yellow best that could only belong to the crossing lady.
