I didn't tell Adrian that I knew that crossing lady. He might have freaked out. One person associated with the crossing lady is enough.

Anyway, Ryan was gone. And I somehow could sense that the crossing lady had something to do with it. Adrian had said the crossing lady was not something to be messed with. She supposedly was dangerous. But Ryan needed us to find him.

So that afternoon when it was time to go home, Me and Adrian stayed behind at school. We both knew we were going to do a very risky thing: Question the Crossing lady.

Only me and Adrian were going. We didn't really want to put anyone else in danger.

Adrian and I hid around a wall until we saw the crossing lady sneakily glance around. I saw Adrian's face tense up as he said; "Okay Sky, I want us to be careful and cautious and everything, but it's time to act."

We then walked over and stood in front of the crossing lady, our hands on our hips.

"I know what your thinking. I can tell from your faces. You seem.. hmm.. Very tense and grieved. I just think I might know why." The crossing lady kind of sounded like a psychic, but way creepier. I was just a few steps from running away, but Adrian looked pretty firm.

"Well if you're so smart, then tell us where Ryan is!" I had never heard Adrian this angry and unreasonable before. It was unsettling. He must have been pretty close to Ryan.

"How would I know dear? " She said with a creepish hint.

"Well, then the real question is, do you have something to do with it?" I asked, impatiently and a tad bit scared.

She just stared at me and said: "Sky." Through the rest of the time we were there, in silence she wore a smile like she had some secret we didn't know. I didn't think I could take this much longer.

She didn't talk after she addressed my name. So me and Adrian soon left. I couldn't help but notice how troubled he looked. Ryan's disappearance must've been hard on him. We didn't talk after the interrogation at all. I was surprised that Adrian didn't ask how the crossing lady knew my name. Mustn't have noticed.

That night I couldn't stop thinking about Adrian, Ryan and the crossing lady. I still hadn't found out how she knew my name. But when sleep finally came, it didn't bring much comfort. Nightmares of the crossing lady and Adrian could hardly be called comfortable.

In the morning I realised that I hadn't even been at St Francis for one week, and I was already participating in a possibly dangerous mystery. Exactly what one might have expected from New York. Why does my life always have to be out of the ordinary?"

As I got to school, I went to find my friends, but they were nowhere to be found. I went to the classrooms, hoping I would find one of them there.

I saw the wavy auburn hair that only could belong to Taylor. But she was yelling at someone - someone I had never seen before. She also sounded distressed. Weird.

I walked up to Taylor, but she was too engaged in her argument to see me there.

"Taylor, is everything alright?" I asked.

Taylor turned her head, and I saw her pale figure with very messy hair, and a flushed face.

"They did it again." She replied, trembling.

"What are you talking about..?"

"Someone's kidnapped Mr Donovan."
