Chapter 8

“Yeah I’ll be back” I said, ducking out before she replied.

“Pick up” I muttered, tapping my foot on the pavement outside the clinic.

“Hey you have-…”they voice mail message started.

“Fuck!”I swore, cutting the call off.

Dammit! Where the fuck is Nina?!

“Hey!”Someone called.

I looked up, a flash buzzed.

“What the-“I muttered dazzled.

“How was Johnny?”He said, holding his lens up.

“What?”I asked, bewildered.

“Was he good?”He asked, clicking another picture.

“You!”I said, lunging to him, but a hand stopped me, wrapping itself around my stomach, pulling me behind.

“The camera”Johhny’s  deep voice came from behind and a hand stretched itself out.

“Hey Buddy!”The guy asked, smiling and holding the camera up to take another picture.

“Jo-“

The camera caught fire.

I smirked.

“Ah!”The guy gasped, his camera falling out of his hand in a burning mess on the pavement.

“Next time” Johnny said, moving around to stand next to me, “When I say stuff, do it.”

“I-“

“Shut it” Johnny dismissed him, taking my hand and pulling me forward, throwing a few dollars at him.

“What the hell was that?!”I asked him as we entered the clinic.

“WE can’t have you exposing yourself so soon” He said in the same dismissing tone.

“Bu-“

“Ria!”Sue called from behind, “Johnny?”

“Sister” Johnny replied.

“What are you doing here?”She asked him.

“Passing by” He answered tightly.

“Well are you done with your work then?”She asked him.

“I guess” He said, glancing at the door for a second.

“Then we were just leaving, come with us” Sue said.

“What about the reports?”I asked, alarmed.

“They’ll be here by evening” She said, pulling my hand and starting to walk to the door.

What is with the Storm siblings and pulling people?!

“The car’s in the-“

“We are going by the SUV”Sue dismissed him.

“I’m going by mine” He said, gruffly.

“No you are not!”Sue argued.

“It’s not going to fly itself home” He said.

“Fine.”Sue sighed.

“I’ll go with him” I supplied.

Sue looked up at me.

“Well you wanted to drop by something right?”I asked her.

“Yeah I did” She answered a moment later.

“Cool! I can go with him, and you can get your work done” I told her.
