Chapter 13

“Oh you’ve got to be kidding me!” I gasped out in awe as I took in the huge race course before me.

“Okay...”Johnny said, shrugging, “This is just a set, the stars are the ceiling and the grass around it is fake, and the track is a very nice illusion.”

I made a face at him, huffing.

“You asked for it!”He said, grinning.

What's got him in such a good mood?

“So where’s the food?”I asked the one question that has been bothering me since I sat in the car.

“Really” Johnny asked, looking shocked.

“Um...aren’t we out for food?”I asked him back.

Johnny closed his eyes shaking his head.

“Out of all the girls in the world...”He murmured.

“What?”

“Nothing” He said, “Before we satiate your stomach I have to show you something...”

“Where are you taking me?”I asked as he pulled me by my hand to . . . somewhere.

“Shush, you talk so much!”He said, lighting a small flame on his fingertip as we entered a huge white building.

“I was a curious kid” I defended.

“Was a kid?”Johnny said back.

“Hey!”I shouted, hitting him on the back.

“Shit!”Johnny exclaimed, slapping a hot hand on my mouth, “Keep it low!”

“Sorry” I murmured, under his hand.

“If you’ll be good girl you’ll get food fast” He said.

That shut me up quickly.

“Good girl” Johnny said, smiling proudly after we reached a door which I assume is locked.

“Are we trespassing?”I asked.

“No, I’m Johnny Storm” He said smugly.

“So?”I asked, still waiting for him to reply.

He rolled his eyes, turning to the door, “Since you’re so interested in the answer, No we aren’t trespassing, just going through this building without informing people who own it”.

“And that’s not trespassing?”

“Nope that’s not” He confirmed.

“Just out of curiosity, when is your birthday?”I asked.

“Curiosity?”Johnny, stopped, turned raised an eyebrow and went, “I wasn’t born yesterday baby”

“I just had a thought” I shrugged, stepping past him to open the door, I turned the knob and yep it was locked.

“About?”Johnny asked.

“What I should gift you” I said, catching his hand.

Is it a little strange that my heart rate just increased by a million beats per minute or is it normal for your heart to do that weird jump?

“And what would that be?”Johnny asked, tightening his grip on my hand.

“We are breaking the knob hotshot, not having a moment” I said, looking down at our intertwined hands.

“What?”He asked a very shocked expression on his face.

“Burn, Freeze, and Boom”I itinerated.
