Unsuccessful attempts

The quack made my body tremble but what got me more terrified was the voice that child said. My mind raced asking the same questions... who is he? I looked over at Jeff his expression already filled with shock, and anger. Does he know what's going on? I need to find Smiley. Now! I need to know if he's ok and not injured at all. I looked around for any hint of the front when I heard a slight ringing to my right. Looking that way, my vision became blur but making out I could only guess to seeing as it lead to the hallway I quickly got up and started walking in that direction.

The hallway seemed to never end as if it wanted to have me think I was going insane with the same pattern over and over again. I wanted to run to see something different to see one thing out of place. I stopped and so did the ringing. In the far distance I heard a voice.

"Sarah" his voice said in a calming effect i smiled and looked around for him. I wanted to hold him. I put my hand out hoping he would grab it but nothing did. I tried to call to him sadly my voice only came out in whispers. I tried again and again there was nothing. He called again this time his hands were on mine. I felt happy but then the grow cold, bone like, and thin. When the voice spoke again it changed dramatically.

"Sarah" the voice deep and dominating. I looked up only to see a white blank space. Trying so very hard to make out what this was I began to feel dread. When I heard other more voices one I knew very well.

"Sarah? Are you ok?" His voice was in a panic but I smiled grabbing his hand. My vision became clear as soon as I touched him.

Suddenly an atmosphere swirled around the hall, providing an almost chocking area. And in that a demon arose from a dark light. It's mouth was jagged into a smile, height was seven to eight feet tall. It's body looked like volcanic rock with small gaps that made its inside. Spikes were everywhere on its body. Whatever it was it sure as hell was not human.

"May it surely has been a long time ago when I walked along side you brother" the demon smiled as it's body stepped closer to the wall. No one spoke but looked in anger as it looked toward the other two creature giving another smile"I see that you look well my friend. Might I suggest you lay off on helping others and work on yourself"

I panicked when more things came out. I felt so confused but the demon continued "Its been so long seeing my creations. Especially you little Jeffrey Allen Woods" I turned where the demon was looking at when I saw Jeff his face red with anger. The demon chuckled "How's that grave for your brother?"

Jeff growled as he stormed up to it, making sure he was so close enough he had the chance to throw a punch at it or the demon to smash him. The demon smiled wider leaning down softly chuckling. My whole body stiffened with every hair on end.

Jeff formed his hands into fits, growling. Then boom Jeff flew to the wall in a flash with him coughing up blood. The demon laughed at him then looked over at me.

"Hope you can come to your senses my dear" with that he snapped his fingers and disappeared in black smoke.

After that demon went away the tall monster placed a hand on his chin. It looked at us then spoke "I believe time has come where you should pick a side now. Are you with me or against me? I won't be mad at your decision" the others looked at each other then back at the tall monster.

Jeff took a few steps up, then turned to me "What was he taking about? Who are you really?"

I wanted to know the same questions but i had none so I didn't say a word. Jeff growled irrigated by the judge of it.

"This is your damn fault!" Jeff yelled his face becoming red. His hand were in the air as he cursed. The doctor stood in front of Jeff glaring at him.

"This is not her fault!" His hands formed into fits. I was about to step up when a another walked up in black but with a blue mask.

"She was what brought him here" his voice slightly growled. The doctor looked at both men then scoffed "Your all just jealous"

"Jealous?" Jeff had got up close and personal "Of what? Your woman bringing bad luck?"

Everyone in that room stood silent, when eventually the doctor walked off. I looked at everyone but they didn't move an inch to go after him.

"Let him walk it off Sarah" the tall faceless man. I looked at Jeff and Jack glaring "Your both jerks"

I ran after the doctor. It didn't take long to catch up to him seeing no one else following. I stared at him confused yet wanted him to feel better. I followed him to his room.

"Hey... " I was so eger to talk to him I didn't know where to start. So I went to the beginning "What did you do to make them so mad at you?"

He didn't say anything. Not even a sound. I regretted asking him. I stopped at a door and sighed.

"Sarah, this not the time so leave me alone" he opened the door slamming it shut. As I stood there tears of frustration ran down my face.

Just then I looked over seeing jeff ten feet away I quickly wiped my tears. "What do you need?" He sighed, walked over grabbing my hand taking me down stairs into the kitchen.

He let go as soon as we got past the doorway turning himself around staring  at me arms folded, shoulders bold, lips into a frown. He growled "The hate you have only makes us stronger. You need to control it" he relaxed "Hate gives the enemy more power"

I scoffed. He sighed placing a hand on my head squeezing. I wiggled or at least trying to as his grip went tighter. But slowly realizing of this i took a deep breath then pushed him softly in which he let go smiling.

"See anger is not an answer" I chaffed at him. He only rolled his eyes in response.

He was like a dumb ass brother you could laugh with so i hugged him the mumbled "Idiot" he didn't mind.

"Jeff" a voice rang in but feeling blank. When we turned our heads it was...

The man with a blue mask faced me and Jeff but when we tried to speak he did first "Humans are nothing but food to me. Your a human woman and I careless of what happens to you but you choice in men are horrible"

Jeff growled as he stepped up "Jack don't drag her down because of Bruce" when the other man didn't answer Jeff went on "She's a guest so don't disrespect a guest"

The man shrugged responding in a calm matter "We all know what he did yet he hasn't said a word to anyone not even slender. Don't you think its weird that he brings in this after being gone for so long?"

Jeff was about to say a single word but it didn't come out. I stood there as questions went through my head. I was going to ask when i felt something place on my shoulder. I glanced up to see it was the tall faceless man walked to the far end as the other two followed behind. I was left behind with so many questions in what just happened.
