Love in Her Eyes, Hurt in Her Life

Chapter 14

It's the third full day. Jack, Elsa, Hiccup, Astrid, Kristoff, Anna, Tadashi, Merida, myself, and several others decide to play Nuke'em on the volleyball court. Nuke'em is similar to volleyball, but you have to catch the ball. If you drop the ball you are out, if no one catches the ball than the one closest to the ball is out. With one arm catches the first person who got out comes back. And when you catch the ball you have to stay where you are when you caught it.

It's teams of nine. The more the players the more fun it is. The opposing team won the first game. The next game is teachers versus students. We have all ten teachers playing and all fifty students playing. The side with all the students is really, REALLY crowded. The students won that round. It's not that surprising to be honest, but the teachers where doing pretty well for a while.

Jack, Hiccup, Kristoff, Elsa, Astrid, Anna, Merida, and I decide to go to the lake today for a little bit. We decide to sit on the sand and just talk. We came down here so we could get away from everyone and have some time to ourselves.

"Rapunzel, we all have something to tell you." Elsa says seriously. I give them a questioning look. "We are all going out tonight...as couples. So Jack and I, Kristoff and Anna, Hiccup and Astrid, and Tadashi and Merida. We are all going out tonight on dates. Not as a group date, but separately." Elsa explains with a bit of nervousness in her tone. I nod my head. "I understand. It's fine. Go and have fun tonight." I say kindly.

Apparently some of the teachers are taking the couples of the Seniors to the lake for a moonlit date night. So I will be the only one from our friend group that is not going. I'll be fine.

We recap yesterday's hiking trip. Something rather interesting happened. Flynn and I got separated from the group and then we got trapped in a cave. We then fell into a water hole. We couldn't figure out a way to get out. Then I got my flashlight and we finally found a way out by moving some rocks and then landing in a river outside the cave. We were eventually found by everyone else.

After dinner all the couples and some of the teachers head over to the lake for the moonlit date night. A good chunk of the students that stayed went to their cabins. The rest of the teachers are having a very strong conversation themselves. Right now it's Flynn and I at the camp fire.

I decide to take a risk. I move over to the chair next to Flynn. I go for an even bigger risk, but something different happens. "Eugene." Flynn says softly. "What?" I ask with a confused look. "My real name is Eugene Fitzherbert." Flynn says. Yesterday in the cave we had some bonding time. We didn't get mad at each other, but instead we relied on each other. I think that helped somethings. "Someone might as well know." He says with a sad tone. I decide to tell him something too. "I barely get to see my parents." I say with a sad tone. "Tell me more about this Eugene Fitzherbert."

"You wouldn't want to hear about it." He says. I lean in closer. "Okay. Every night at the orphanage I would read this story to the younger kids. The Tales of Flynnigan Rider. Richest man alive, handsome, could go anywhere and do anything. Not bad with the ladies may I add." Fly-Eugene explains "Then one day I got adopted. I finally got adopted. I was so happy. Then I got to my new home and it all went downhill from there."

We just end up staring at each other. Eugene clears his throat and stands up. "I should go get some more fire wood." He says. "Hey, for the record. I like Eugene Fitzherbert much better than Flynn Rider." I say kindly with a smile. He looks at me with a small smile. "Than you'd be the first." He says and walks over to get more firewood.

I just sit there smiling. I think I really like him. and I think he likes me. A few minutes later Eugene comes back with a bunch of wood for the fire. He puts a few sticks in and sits back down next to me.

"Why do you bully me?" I ask cautiously. Eugene looks at me and gives a small sigh. "It's not my choice." He says and pauses. What's he talking about?
