Chapter 16

I can't help but think about last night. I fell asleep last night smiling. I had a ridiculous grin on my face. I could have looked like the Joker from Batman. I'm excited for mine and Eugene's date.

Eugene and I decided that we won't tell my friends about us right away. I had a feeling that my friends wouldn't take it too well. Jack would probably kill me. Tonight Eugene and I are going to the lake. I'm really excited for it.

"Rapunzel!" My friends tell my name snapping me back into reality. "Yes." I say casually. "Elsa was asking you why you had this ridiculous grin on your face last night." Jack explains. I start to get nervous. I can't tell them the truth, but I also shouldn't lie. I don't want to lie. I think I have to though.

"Umm...something happened last night at the camp fire." I say cautiously. "What happened?" Anna asks curiously. Oh gosh. "Well, I was talking with this guy and then he asked me out on a date." I say cautiously. The girls just get excited and the guys are just 'okay, who is he? We need to do a background check'. "Whose the guy?" Jack asks seriously. Oh gosh. "Well, umm, he's not who you would think of me dating. He's really nice and last night we just opened up to each other." I explain. "Okay. What's his name?" Hiccup asks directly. Oh yay.

"I'm not going to say." I say "I will tell you all at some point, but not now. I want to see if this is going to be a good relationship first." I'm hoping they will buy it. Please buy it! "Okay." They all say. Oh gosh thank you!

After dinner I excuse myself. I make up a reason on why I leave. I'm hoping my friends bought it. Instead, I go behind my cabin, so people can't see us, to meet up with Eugene. When I get there Eugene is already standing there waiting for me. I walk up to him with a smile.

"Hey." I say sweetly. He looks at me and smiles. "Hi." Eugene says happily. We embrace each other in a hug and then we head to the lake. We walk hand in hand. I really like this. I'm hoping that things will work out.

When we get to the lake we get a boat and start rowing out. It may sound weird, but I've had a dream that I had a great relationship with a great guy. I've been dreaming of meeting this great guy since I was little. What if it's not what I was hoping. Eugene must notice that I'm a bit down.

"Hey, you okay?" Eugene asks kindly. "I've been dreaming about meeting this great guy since I was little. What if it's not everything I dreamed?" I confess. "It will be." He says kindly. "And what if it is?" I question. "You get to find a new dream." He says taking my hand. We look each other in the eye and we stay there for a bit.

After rowing out to the middle of the lake we start talking. We talk about what we enjoy doing, hobbies, favorite music, favorite places to go, etc. I then ask him a question.

"Who's your mom?" I ask "Last night you kept calling her your adopted mom. What's her name?" He kind of just stops. I don't think he was expecting that question to come up. "Umm...her name is Gothel." Eugene says. With that I stop in my tracks. "What?!" I ask kind of scared.
