After Family Game night, Skylar went home. Since I couldn't tell her what I heard here, I told her I'll tell her tomorrow when we were completely alone. I couldn't risk telling her here and someone overheard.

Mrs. Chester hit it off with the girls and Jake. She seemed really cool and interested in the same things they were. It was all an act to get on their good sides.

She and Veronica left saying they were going to run some errands. They couldn't come up with a better lie? Who ran errands at ten in the night?

I was in my room watching tv when I heard a knock on my door. I yelled 'come in' and in came Kenneth.

"Hi pumpkin." He said closing the door behind him.

"Hey Kenny boy," I smiled as he took a seat on my bed. I ruffled his hair a bit and he smacked my hand away. "What's up?"

"I saw you while Gwen, Ronnie and I were talking in the kitchen." He said.

"Did you?" I asked.

He chuckled. "It's a lot for you to take in right?" I shrugged. He smiled. "Believe it or not, your mother and I were high school sweethearts. My first true love." Just by looking at him, I could tell he loved her so much." We broke up because we were both going to colleges in different states and we weren't made for long distance relationships. So we promised when we get older we'd get married. No matter what."

"So what happened?" I asked.

"You and Skylar did," he grinned. "Well at the time, it was only Skylar. I visited her at the hospital and she told me what Marshall did. The nurses told me that Scarlet had been taking drugs so she was hallucinating and she was lucky the baby was alive and healthy."

"That's crazy."

"Right?" He agreed. " I know Scarlet would never do anything that would  jeopardize the life of a baby. She always talked about having one." He paused for a second. "Anyways, they took her away and I never saw her again. After you came here and we made the shocking discovery of your twin, I got a message and it was from her. I met her out of town a few times. She looked so beautiful but sad. We talked for a while and I promised her I wouldn't let anything happen to you."

"Awww."

"You just made me love you so much just by being yourself. I may not be your real father but nobody can tell me you aren't my daughter." He smiled.

My eyes began to water. "It's dusty in here man." He chuckled.

"Thanks for caring about me Ken." I say as I hugged him.

"Thanks for letting me kiddo." He replied as he hugged me back.

I pulled away and wipe the traitor tear for my eye.

When I woke up the next morning I was smiling. It was a bright and sunny day and I was happy.

Nope.

I was miserable. I like school but I wish I didn't have to get up so early in the morning to go. Couldn't school start at 10 and end at 10:01? I'm just kidding. But I think ten until two would be nice.
