Kai's POV

I walked into my room and shut the door behind me. I layed on my bed with my arm behind my head and just stared at the ceiling. I thought about her, why she wanted to leave and not wait. But I understood in a way, because she cares a lot.

"Kai," I looked at my door and my best friend, Gabe, walked in and shut the door.

"What?" I said sitting on the edge of my bed.

"You okay?" He asked me.

"I'm leaving tomorrow with her," I told him, "I promised I would help her find her best friend, make sure that he is safe, okay."

"I can't let you," he said walking back and forth.

"This isn't your desicion," I said, "God, your acting like my parents, you think I need someone to take care of me, I'm 17, I'm responsible enough to stand up for what I think is right."

"Kai," he said.

"Just get out," I said, "you can't change my mind, your not my best friend, your more like my other parent."

He felt his hair and walked out of my room. I turned my light off changed into my pajamas and layed down on my bed in the dark, I was just thinking. About Arden.

I thought about her smile. Her wavy hair. Her laugh. Her confidence. How strong she was. She didn't deserve me, though. All I was doing was helping her. The sad part was I had lied to her. I didn't really want to help her, I just wanted to prove to everyone I was responsible. But she couldn't know at all.

"Kai," I looked up, it was this girl named Morgan.

"What?" I said.

"Are you okay? I heard what happened," she said.

"I'm fine, I'm trying to go to sleep, why are you here?" I asked her.

"Just wanted to check on you," she said, "but your fine, so, goodnight Kai."

"Yeah, bye," I said.

She walked out, closing my door. And I layed down and looked out the window, at the stars. And all I could think about was Arden.

Arden's POV

I opened the window and sat down on the roof. I let the wind blow my hair as I looked up at the sky. There were some people, around a fire, laughing, having fun, I saw Kai's parents down there and some of his friends. I didn't see him. I got up and walked on the roof to his room. He was in his bed, sleeping. I smiled and then went back to my room. Thinking about tomorrow. I layed down and fell asleep, happy as ever.

"Come back as soon as you find him," Kai's mom said to us.

She gave me and Kai book bags, filled with supplies and then gave us a bag full of food, meat. She sneaked blood in to Kai's personal book bag, and I acted as if I didn't notice. Then we headed out. His parents seemed worried, but I knew we would be alright.

We were far from Kai's pack and we both grew hungry.

"Let's stop here," he told me.

"Ok," I said, we sat down on a log and I took my bag off.

I took my bottle of water out and drunk some, Kai took out his blood bag and drunk some, as I ate my meat.

"Why does your parents not want anyone to know?" I asked him.

"About me being a hyrid?" He said laughing.

"Yes," I said.

"To them it's a big deal, they hate the vampires, and for their son to be one," he said, "I think they are just very disappointed in me, that's why they don't trust me."

"You aren't one," I said, "your half vampire, and half wolf, there's a difference."

"Not to them," he said to me.

I put my stuff away and stood up, looking at the sky.

"It's whatever," he said.

"So, basically your parents don't accept you," I laughed.

"It's fine," he said, "I'm used to disappointing people."

"So am I, but I keep trying," I said, "don't give up."

He looked at me. I kept my hands on my hips and just smiled at him, while he looked at me.

"Let's keep moving," he said, packing up his stuff and putting his bookbag on.

I followed and then we started to walk again.

Kai was walking in front of me and I was listening to some music from his phone. All I could do was smile. He reminded me of Bay. He was confident, kind, and bound to help anybody in any condition. He was special. Special like bay was special.

"Stop looking at me," he told me.

I laughed. "Sorry," I said, "how do you know I'm looking at you? Do you have eyes behind your head now, being a hybrid and all."

"No," he said smiling, "I can sense it, so stop doing it."

I ran to get closer to him and he looked at me. "What?"

"Why are you really helping me?" I asked him.

"I told you alr-," he started.

"The truth," I interrupted.

He stopped and looked at me. "Why?" He said.

"Did you just ask me why?" I said to him.

"You don't trust me?" He said, "I told you the truth."

"I'm a special wolf," I said.

"What?" He said.

I looked around and then held onto my bookbag straps as it bounced on my back and the wind blew.

"I'm a witch," I said, "I'm both actually, I can control all 4 elements, by myself."

"Now your not telling the truth?" He laughed as he started to walk again.

"You think I'm lying," I said.

He nodded his head as he walked and I looked at the pond that was near us, then back at him. I stopped as he continued and focused on the water. It flew in the air and splashed on Kai. I laughed and he looked at me.

"What the fuck," he said.

"It wasn't me," I said, "I'm not a witch remember."

He looked at me smiling and I walked right past him, laughing.

I felt bad for soaking him with water, but I never lie.
