"You've got to give a little, take a little, and let you poor heart break a little, that's the story of, that's the glory of love, you've got to laugh a little, cry a little, until the clouds roll by a little, that's the story of that's the glor-."

"Glory of love," I looked up, I was staring at the ceiling, eyes were slowly closing. When I saw Alpha Mike leaning against the edge of the door.

I sat up and he closed the door behind him giving me another tray of food this time it was breakfast. Looking out the window I didn't realize that it was another day and morning, I don't even remember if I went to sleep or not and I still don't remember how I got here in the first place. He placed the plate down and I started to eat the food.

"I use to sing that to you everyday when I officially started walking you to school," he said looking at me eat.

"And when you weren't an asshole," I blurted out as I continued to eat.

"You learned the lyrics and we sung it all the time," he smiled.

"What's your point?" I asked.

"No point," he said walking closer to me and sitting down, "I'm just happy that you remember it."

"Can I ask you a question," I said pushing the tray away when I finished.

"Depends," he said.

"Why didn't you just claim me as your daughter and not wait? Were you ashamed to tell the pack?" I asked him and he smirked, "or maybe it was because you got all the ladies, don't think I didn't notice all the women you were with, and I still respected you."

"It wasn't my idea kiddo, it was your mothers," he told me.

I looked at him for a while and then took a breather, standing up still chained up as he followed me back up.

"I don't believe you."

"That's fine, and I wouldn't blame you."

"Get out," I said.

"We need to talk," he said laughing.

"I have nothing to say to you, no questions I need answered, I just want you to leave me be," I said crossing my arms across my clutched together knees.

"No questions?" He said sarcastically.

He picked up the tray and looked at the leftover food I didn't eat. Broccoli along with some bacon.

"What kind of wolf hates bacon?" He laughed, "I know you have questions."

"So what if I do."

"Ask them."

"How do I know you'll tell me the truth to each question."

"I guess you won't, but don't be scared to ask, I may lie or may be truthful."

He sat crisscrossed in front of me and crossed his fingers. I looked into his eyes and saw the wolf I saw when I was younger. Holding his hand walking to school, I can tell when he's lying. He is my father after all. We are connected. Just then I thought, if we are connected hd could've easily tracked me and captured me earlier. Why did he let me be free and decide to take me now?

That was my first question.

"Why now?" I blurted our after a whole of silence and drops of water dripping from the ceiling.

"It was a test."

"What kind of test?"

"To see how long you can survive without Bay and your brother," he answered, "you made new alliances and fought back some of my wolves, killed them actually and you did all of that for yourself. Not for Kai, Claire, Bailey, or even Bay, but for your survival."

"I did it to protect them," I said.

"No you didn't," he smirked.

"I did."

"If you did you would've let Kai fight off the wolves along with you or maybe just grab Claire and Bailey and use your speed to run away from the wolves but instead you decided to kill them," he said.

"You don't know what happened."

"I do little sunflower," he replied.

Hearing him call me that, brought back more memories. Why didn't I ask Kai for help? Was it so I could show them I was more powerful? That they needed me to protect them? That they were weak and I was strong. He was right.

There was a knock on the door and Mike got up walking towards it, he opened it and it was Ansel.

"Her room is ready," he told Mike. I was looking at him with stray eyes wanting to rip him to shreds.

But I controlled my wolf thinking of the conversation I just had with Mike. They whispered for a while and then Ansel came in and blew something in my face again and I didn't fight back.

Next thing I know everything was once again blurry then in an instant, black.

Kai's POV

"Are we almost there?" I asked Bay as I held my backpack.

"Yup," he responded instantly, "just up this mountain and then around the corridor of it and down the river. We are there, let's hurry this all up guys."

I heard Bailey and Claire grown out of exhaustion. We only took one break that wasn't so long and I was tired too but too determined to think about sleep because I wanted to find Arden. The mountain wasn't hard to climb but the way down looked hard considering because Claire is half fairy she couldn't go in water. So this would be a difficult way down but we weren't gonna give up. I looked over at Claire and she was already on her way down trying her hardest to avoid the water. We followed Bay down and then climbed a very big tree to get a better few of his pack.

"How are we going to do this?" Bailey asked.

"Honestly," Bay responded, "I have no idea, I didn't exactly think of a plan I was more focused on getting here."

"Are you serious?" Claire exclaimed.

"Shh," I whispered, "we can't find Arden if we get caught."

"I know this pack territory well, if anything she'll be in the alpha's dungeon or still hiding out to find her brother," Bay finally said, "either way we need to look for her and bring her back. Before we ourselves get caught."

We sat in the tree out of sight and began to make a plan to figure out where Arden could be. We split up. Me and Bailey went to search the town and ask people questions without being too obvious. While Bay and Claire found a way to get to the alpha's house to search the place, without getting caught by anyone in the house which was a risk for Bay considering he is the most recognizable. But we needed to try and get to Arden before dawn.

"Ok," Bay said, "don't forget we need to find her brother too if we can," he showed us a photo of him that had Bay and Arden in it, "this is what he looks like, if you see anything that may lead to him or if you see him tell him we are friends of Arden's."

"And if he doesn't believe us?" Claire said.

"I didn't think of that," Bay grunted.

I scoffed.

"We'll think of something," Bailey said while grabbing my arm and making her way down the tree.

I followed. "Be safe."

"Just get my best friend back."

I nodded and made my way down with Bailey. Then we put on sweatshirts and made our way into town.

Our way to find Arden.
