The Wolf Within

Chapter Nine: All Well Ends Well; Angels & Demons

We headed back to the woods, I kept Bailey in my arms, she was still crying. But I could tell in her mind that it wasn't tears of joy, but she was angry and wanted revenge of my wolf pack. If the people who did it was them, if they knew that Bailey and Claire were with me, they'd obviously take it out on them. And that made me more angry. We finally got back to our camping spot, Bailey fell asleep on me and Claire was still awake, sitting near the water. She must have been thinking because she was staring at the water for a long time before looking up to the sky and smiling.

"You think they'll be fine?" Kai asked.

"Hopefully, I just hope they don't claim to want revenge," I answered, "but it's most likely, that's their commitment."

"Yep, well I'm going to get some sleep, and goodnight," Bay said, he laid down, I looked at Kai and then laid next to Bailey, soon falling asleep.

I felt Bailey grab my hand in her sleep, I woke up and my eyes grew wide. Soon enough I saw what she was dreaming about. It was like I was in or apart of her dream. She was dreaming about her family. Then it got brutal. She saw the people who killed them. It was the wolves from my pack, actually I saw my parents. Then that was it, she let go of my hand and I jumped up from my sleep. I looked at her and she was still sleep. But how did that happen? How did I just see what she was dreaming about? Was she a mystical creature?

I moved over and fell back to sleep.

I woke up again when the sun was rising, I watched it and then everyone else started to wake up soon after me. I kept looking at Bailey, she smiled at me while we all ate breakfast. But I couldn't forget what happened yesterday. I saw her dream. And I had to confront her about it.

"Bailey, can I talk to you?" I asked, she nodded getting up and following me to a tree.

"What's up?" She said.

"Are you a mystical creature?" I said very bluntly.

"What?" She said giving me a confused and concerned look.

"Last night, you were sleep, then you grabbed my hand and I saw your dream, how?" I told her, she looked down and then grabbed my hand.

"You can't tell anybody," I could hear her thoughts, "I'm a mixture of a witch and an angel, from my mom and dad."

"Why didn't you say anything?" I asked her, "you could have helped us."

She let go of my hand and looked down at the ground. "I couldn't have helped, my powers aren't like yours, I can only read people's mind, make people hear my thoughts and see my dreams, and sometimes I can make people do what I want, but I'm not very good at that."

"You still have magic, if you can read people's mind, then that's useful, and I can help you with the last one, it's probably power that you can't control," I said, "you just need to trust me, Bailey."

"Of course I trust you," she said, "I told you I have powers, and Claire she is a fairy, but not a powerful one."

"Dark or light?" I asked while looking at Claire eat her breakfast.

"Both, I don't know how, but it's pretty amazing," she answered.

"Yea, it is," I smiled.

"Don't tell the boys," she said, grabbing my arm, "until me and Claire know how to control our powers fully, okay."

"I promise," I said, "and I never break a promise Bailey, you can trust me."

We walked back to the others and sat down opposite from each other, Kai finished his breakfast and Claire was laying on the ground looking up at the sky. Bay looked at me and I smiled.

"Okay, what do we do know?" Kai asked, "we can't go back with two extra people, we told my parents we were only going to find Bay, not these two."

"Calm down," I said, "we will tell them the truth, we found Bay, and then two wolves from my pack had captured Bailey and Claire and so we helped them, tried to take them back home, but their families were...," I stopped myself and just took a bite of my sandwich, as Kai put his hands in his pockets and Claire sat up.

"Slaughtered," Claire said, "it's okay, you can say it, we know the truth."

"Yea, we say that," Kai continued, "so, we should head back and take a break when it starts to get dark again, unless we are there before the moon comes out...so let's get going people."

We all packed up and started walking back, I memorized our way back and so did Kai, we were halfway there when it started to rain, using my water powers, i made the rain go away, but it took a while, so Kai, Bailey, Bay, and Claire waited in a cave nearby as I stood in the rain trying to make it stop faster.

When I did, we began walking again, I stood next to Claire and the rest were walking ahead of us.

"Your a fairy," I said out of nowhere, she looked at me and I quickly regretted saying it.

"How do you know?" She asked.

"I found out that Bailey is a witch and a angel," I answered, "she told me that you were a light and dark fairy, but don't worry, if you don't want Kai and Bay to know, then I won't tell them."

"Thanks, I don't want them to, I can't even control my powers yet," she said.

"I can help you, I'm a witch and a wolf, and I'm able to control my powers, my parents trained me," I said, "mostly because I was the most powerful in my pack, but only my parents and my best friend knew I was a witch anyway."

"And now me and Bailey," she said.

"Yea, but my parents believed that if anyone knew about my powers, they would try and take advantage of me, cause I can control all four elements, so they kept it a secret," I said, "but one day my younger brother made a mistake, they decided to execute him, my parents were going to let them, but I couldn't lose him, so I let my powers out and I killed the alphas wife."

"Wow, is your brother...," she said.

"Yes," I said, "they killed him, I didn't see them kill him, but I know they did, they had to, I fled with Bay, and for revenge they probably killed my parents too, but I want my brother back if he is still alive, I just don't want to get revenge."

"Don't think that, he could be alive, you never know they could be holding him captive until you come back," she said to me, "don't believe unless you see it."

I smiled at her and she gave me a hug.

I felt like I could trust her and Bailey now, I felt like I knew them for so long, I could tell them anything without them judging me or changing their point of view of who I am, I wanted to keep them safe, same with Kai and Bay.

"We made it," I heard Kai say, me and Claire ran up to where they were, we saw his pack from above the hill. I smiled and we ran down all together and went threw the gates to enter his packs town or territory.

We were finally back. But we still didn't know if Bailey and Claire could stay. Or if me and Bay could stay. Once we passed the gates, actual butterflies were in my stomach...and not in a good way.
