~Twenty Five~
Two minutes before class finally started. Two more minutes before I had to come in contact with actual people. That's what is scaring me the most. The fact that the people that will probably have no significant say in my future, will be here, judging me, yet I care what they have to say. I'm scared of Rejection. What if I, once again, I become the weird; the freak that no one likes.
I just have to learn to live with it. But there is a chance people will like me.
"Yo Marcel!" Jordan, the school's greatest offense player, ran up to me. "Joanna said you were having a pretty hard time. Er- You wanna hang out after school?"
"What? Really?"
"Yeah why not? But you gotta change your clothes." He gave a shy smile. He walked off. I didn't know if that was a formal invitation, but I'll take it! I continued down the hallway trying to wrap my head around the fact that he wants to hang out. I mean wow!
"Hey Marcel!" "What's up Marcel!" "Hey Marcel, party thins Saturday, you coming?" Various people crowded around me. Never in a million years did I think I could still talk to these type of people while wearing my normal clothes. The way they acknowledged me made my day ten times better, but I couldn't help but be sad from the sight that appeared before my eyes.
A perfect brunette walked down the hall, she was not what she appeared to be, there was no trace of insecurity, no trace of nervousness, no trace of braids cascading her shoulders, just absolutely no trace of her old self.
Her hair was straightened and to the side. Her glasses appeared bigger than usual, but they didn't hide her natural beauty. She had a pink dress with grey flowers on with black flats, but never in my entire life have I ever seen her like this. Never, and it was very appealing. I wasn't the only one who noticed her walk in. Even though she took over every ounce of my thoughts I couldn't help but let my heart break when I saw she was holding hands with a curly haired boy I call my brother.
