~Thirty One~

"Excuse me?" His words made confused me. Not only ten minutes ago was he being nice to me, but now he decides to bad mouth me in my own car.

"You heard me." He took a poof of the substance. "You're such a goody two shoes, you don't have any fun. No wonder Amie chose your brother." My heart sank as his words hit me. I couldn't help but let my eyes get watery as he spoke. "It's obvious you're in love with her."

"H-how do you know?"

With a shrug of his shoulders he answered, "The way you look at her. The whole school knows it. Hell, even Joanna knows it, but she's trying to get you away from her, which I don't understand why. You're nothing but a-"

"Jordan that's enough." Michael spoke up. "Leave the kid alone."

"Oh, so now you're on his side? Just shut up Mike."

"Marcel, don't listen to him, it's just the weed talking." Luke said while looking at me with pity. Jordan just continued to smoke while Michael and Calum, completely annoyed about the situation, just sat there in silence.

"Don't act like your his friends. Please, you're only here because of me." Jordan laughed to himself. "No one really likes you, you know that?" He patted me on the back while he choked back another laugh. "Hell, not even your own brother likes you."

"That's enough Jordan," Calum was the one to speak this time. "Marcel, pull over yeah?"

"B-but w-we aren't there yet." The tears had spilled, and my heart clenched itself. I felt as if I were suffocating, but I had all the room in the world, but with every harmful word, my heart broke even more.

"Marcel, come on, just pull over."

"It's r-raining."

"Doesn't matter. Just do it." Calum's harsh tone is how we ended up on the side of the road. "Jordan, we're trading seats, get out." Jordan was the first to get out, and once he did, all three other boys locked the doors.

"W-what are you-"

"Punch it!"

"Step on the petal!"

"Go!"

Without realizing, I stepped on the pedal, and left Jordan in the middle of no where in the rain. He deserved it. Was all I kept thinking, but at the same time, it wasn't right. Sure he was talking but he could get hypothermia. Shut up would ya? Stop being so nice. I was right, I did have to stop it. He deserved it. But- But nothing. Let it go.

"Marcel? Marcel! You all right?" Luke's voice brought me back to real life.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry. Should we go back?" Damn it.

"No, he needs to learn a lesson." Michael let out a laugh and gave me a smile. "You all right?" The sincerity in his voice almost made me believe him.

"I;m fine. Why do you care, you don't like me remember?"

"Yeah, but like he said, we all know you're in love with her, I just wanted to make sure. I was only being an ass to you because you deserved it."

"Thanks I guess, but yeah I'm fine, just a little riled up. He was getting me mad." A few minutes of silence filled the air. I didn't know these boys, how could I trust them? Well, they did save me from Jordan's ridicule, but still I knew nothing about them.

"Stop over thinking it." Michael climbed over from the back seat to sit in the passenger seat. "Don't worry, he'll be fine, but the real question is if you will be."

"Why would you say that?"

"Because it's so easy to see you;re in love with the girl. Why not just admit it?" He asked as if it were the easiest thing in the world to do.

"Because it isn't that easy. She's dating my brother." I let out a sigh of defeat . Thinking about it would really be the end of me. At least when they were in public I saw what they did, but my imagination would and will run wild of images of them if I don't stop it.

"You're blind, mate. They're doing it to make you jealous. I mean she just needs the attention-"

"They kissed today. I think I'd know if it were fake or not, and plus Amie is not an attention seeker, so if you talk badly about her again-"

"Calm down, that wasn't what I was pointing at. She just needs the attention right now, especially since you ridiculed her the day after she found out about her dad." He put his hands up in surrender.

"Her dad?"

"Yeah, her dad, he's coming home."

"Then why is she sad? That's fantastic news."

"You didn't hear? He lost one of his legs, something went off and they had to amputate it." I stepped on the break as soon as the words left his mouth. No! That cant be happening. Wait....

"When did you find out?"

"Er, Harry told me about few days ago? Or was it last week. I'm not sure, it was a while ago. Why?"

"Because she came to my house a while back to talk but I wasn't there and Harry told me she was crying, and it was this big thing.... I cant believe she didn't tell me." I whispered the last part, but they seemed to hear me.

"Maybe because that's when you started hanging out with Joanna. You left your best friend when she needed you the most." Luke spoke softly. "You should pull to the side. You're in the middle of the road." I did as I was told and just tried to catch my breath.

"I'm awful. I'm an awful best friend. I'm just an awful person in general. Why would I do that? Why am I so stupid? She should have told me. I'm her best friend. Why didn't she tell me? Oh, right because I'm an idiot!"

"Hey, Marcel, calm down, really it's okay. You would have found out eventually. Yeah, okay, maybe it should have been from her, but does it make that much of a difference, now you know that you just have to be there for her when he gets here."

"Marcel really, you need to just calm down-" Calum started to talk, but stopped once flashing lights were visible from the rear view mirror. "Shit! The police, hide the weed guys!"

This night just gets better and better.

"Calm down! Calm down! That makes us look suspicious." I spoke through shaky breaths. "He's coming, everyone act natural." The outside me was calm, but internally I was freaking out. This cant be happening. I didn't even want it with me to begin with, but no I don't have a say in my car.

A knock on the door scared me, and I turned my head to the right to see the police officer waiting for me to roll down the window.

"Can I help you sir?" I spoke calmly as possible.

"Yes, I got an anonymous tip saying there was some funny business going on in this particular car. Is it true?" He looked through the window and stared at the other boys.

"Well, what kind of funny business Officer..?"

"Murray."

"Murray? As in Jordan Murray's father?" Michael spoke up.

"Why yes, like Jordan Murray's father, Michael." He spoke with a sly grin.

"Of course you are." His tone was full of annoyance and anger.
