Marcel's POV
I couldn't believe that I just saw. My emotions were everywhere at the moment, and I couldn't stand it. My heart, broken and I wanted to cry, but I also wanted to yell and scream, and kick or punch something. Someone, to be more exact. First it was Amie, than it was Joanna, but now that I cant have Amie, I want her. I want to be the one her lips touch, the one that makes her smile, the one that touches her, the one that makes her feel loved.
I was beyond pissed, but why should I be? I was the one who initiated it first. I was the one who brought up Joanna at the table. I was the one who went along with her stupid plan. I was the one who forgot about my best friend.
Why do you have to be such a screw up? I thought to myself.
I tugged the ends of my hair as I walked through the double doors of the school. I didn't care that I was leaving school during the middle of the day, but I should, shouldn't I? I, Marcel Styles, should care if I wanted my valedictorian spot.
Valedictorian. The word pleases me, but I'm not fully satisfied. Valedictorian? What would that do for me? A lot, actually, but with the people who have been talking to me lately? What would they think? Why do I care?
You do, care. You're just being an idiot. My inner idiot comments, but he is right. I do care, but I don't at the same time. I need to start focusing on school, and nothing else, but its harder than I thought. No Joanna, no parties, nothing crazy, but here I am practically ditching classes. I was almost to the cars when some one called out my name, causing me to avert my attention.
"Hey, Marcel!" Jordan, the boy from earlier today ran towards me. "Where ya headed?"
"I don't really know..." I pondered off into my mind. "I was thinking of leaving."
"Really?" He looked at me wide-eyed. "Didn't think you were one to ditch classes." He patted me on the back, as if to reward me for wanting to do such a terrible thing. "Well do you have a car, it looks like it's about to rain."
"Yeah, it's over there." I pointed to my little Volvo.
"Well, are you going home?"
"Probably, why?"
"Well, me and some of my friends were hoping on leaving, but my cars at the shop, and no one else can drive, and we wanted to have some fun, so would you mind-"
"Giving you all a ride." I finished his sentence for him. He gave a shy, and awkward smile while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well, yeah, cause you know we were supposed to hang out tonight, but I mean its okay if you don't want to." He looked back at his friends. There were only about 2 or 3, so how much trouble could they be?
"No, it's okay, sure."
"Really?" He answered as if he didn't expect me to oblige to his deed.
"Yeah, I mean it's only you guys, just tell me where to go, and I'll drop you off."
"Sweet, thanks Marcel. Hey guys! Come on Marcel's giving us ride!" He yelled over to his friends and they all ran to the car. It was a bit childish when they all fought for the front seat, but I ended having to be the peace maker, choosing Jordan to sit in the front with me because he's the only one I've talked to.Your
I started the engine, and pulled out of the parking structure. "So, where to?" I asked all four of my guests, three who I have yet to know their names.
"Do you know where the old lake is?" The one with vibrant pink hair asked me.
"Uh, yeah?"
"Go there." Mr. Pink Hair demanded.
"Don't mind his rudeness. He's cranky, but yeah if you don't mind, would you go there?" The darker one with brown hair commented.
"Yeah, sure."
"I'm Calum by the way, that's Luke" He pointed to the blond "And Mr. Cranky pants over here is Michael, and well you already know Jordan. "
"Marcel." I replied.
"Yeah, we know who you are. You're the one who got completely wasted the other day at the party and humiliated a girl." The memory still stings, and I cant help but tighten the steering wheel.
"Y-yeah, that was me." My breath became shaky
"Yeah. We. Know." Michael spoke, making intense eye contact with me through the mirror.
"Please excuse my friend. He doesn't like you much." Luke spoke up at last.
"Why should I like someone who makes a mockery of a poor girl." He continued to scowl me. "Who do you even think you are? I mean who just does that?! Do you know how you made Amie feel?"
"I know." Was my only response. He was right who was I? Why was I allowed to do that?
"I don't think you do. How dare you-."
"Please, S-stop talking." My hands clenched the wheel harder
"You're a coward you know that. Just because you're sleeping with the school's slut doesn't mean you can-"
"Michael that's enough!" Jordan turned and gave him a smack. "Jesus, Michael, Marcel's doing us a favor, now shut up."
"What ever."
"H-how do you know her?"
"I'm friends with your brother." He flatly replied.
"Oh, well.."
"That's enough talk. Here, one for each of ya." Jordan tossed a small bag to each of us. The other boys seemed to be relieved, but I just got nervous. The others seemed to get with the program faster as Jordan took out a lighter and began to light it.
"What-what is this?" I already knew the answer to my own question. Yes, I wasn't caring about my school work, but never in a million years have I thought of doing or being this close to this sort of situation
"Youre a smart boy, I think you know what it is."
"I'm driving, please put it away, and here." I tossed the bag back to Jordan. "I don't do those type of things."
"Wow, I bet Amie would think you're a pussy." Jordan told me. The other boys just snickered to themselves.
