Legolas heard the plea and felt the magic that Elrond was sending to him. He accepted the magic, completing the formation of a bond Legolas had never felt before. Elrond laughed in joy. "My son, you will be alright." Elrond said as he carried Legolas to his room and tucked the elfling into his own bed, wanting to keep a close eye on his elfling. Glorfindel, Erestor, and the twins were up to something but Elrond did not care at the moment what they were up to. Elrond noticed that Legolas was whimpering and shivering. He climbed into the bed and wrapped himself around the little one. Legolas calmed, contentment radiating through the family bond. Elrond gently got up, going to his desk to do some paperwork. At about midnight, Legolas started to thrash and scream. Elrond picked up the elfling and walked in the gardens, rocking slightly and speaking soothingly or singing softly the whole time. Legolas was almost asleep when Elrond tried to put the elfling on the bench for a second. Legolas clung to Elrond tightly. "Pplease *sob* ddon't leave *sob* me!" Legolas pleaded. "I *sob* ppromise *sob* to be *sob* ggood!" Legolas was sobbing and his wounds were starting to hurt him. Elrond sat on the bench, rocking Legolas. "Hush, pennath nin. I will never leave you. Hush... You are safe. It's alright." Elrond soothed while using his ring of power, Vilya, to cause the little one to fall asleep. The dawn of the next day saw Legolas clinging to the Lord of the Hidden Valley. Elrond had missed being a father of a little one. Elladan and Elrohir had long ago reached their majority and were independent, not needing their Adar to look after them. Arwen had always wanted to be with Celebrían.  That had been a burn. Celebrían had sailed to the west after orcs had tortured her. Elrond had cared about Arwen but it had been better for her to go to Lothlorien to be with the Lady of the Light. He smiled, hugging Legolas closer. He was needed again and could shower this little one with love for a few centuries. Legolas clung to Elrond, craving love and affection that he had been denied since his mother had died in child birth. His father had despised Legolas, ignoring him for 23 years and hurting him at every opportunity. Finally, someone was willing to love him and Legolas was happy. Elrond was going to help this elfling and no force on Arda could stop him.
