Glorfindel and a group of Rivendell guards rode out to meet the Mirkwood riders. "Glorfindel! It is an honor to meet the legendary balrog slayer!" A guard of Mirkwood called. The prince of the wood was revealed to the Rivendell guards. Glorfindel studied the young prince (only appearing to be four) of only 100. 'He is too small to be a hundred. He must be much younger.' Mused Glorfindel. Glorfindel sighed. "Your guards should go back to Mirkwood to help secure the borders. Lord Elrond assures you that no harm will befall your prince while he is at Rivendell." Glorfindel stated. Legolas bowed his head in acceptance. The wood elves obeyed Glorfindel, riding away without ever looking back to their prince once. Legolas looked lost until Glorfindel motioned for everyone to ride to the Hidden Valley. The Rivendell riders joked with each other. Glorfindel turned. Such a young elf shouldn't be as quiet as this. "So tell me prince, what is your name?" Glorfindel asked sharply. The prince jolted and Glorfindel barely resisted the urge to laugh because the wood elf had been asleep. "My name is unimportant." The prince said with a bowed head. Glorfindel looked straight at the prince and saw the prince's head bowed and tear on his cheek. Glorfindel just watched the prince the whole way back. An hour later, Rivendell's riders were getting off their horses. Lord Elrond and a few of his household were ready to welcome the prince to Lord Elrond's realm. "Welcome to Rivendell, Prince of Mirkwood. May there be a star shining upon this hour of our meeting." Elrond greeted the prince formally. "Your welcome is most gratifying, my lord. May your house be at peace for an age." The prince answered smoothly. "I am Elrond, Lord of Rivendell. These are my sons, Elladan and Elrohir. They are to be your guides until you are familiar with the valley." Elrond explained with a slight smile. The prince looked shocked. "Tthank you for this small mercy, my lord." The prince said with a very deep bow. Elrond raised an eyebrow at this but did not push the elfling, for that is what Thranduil had sent to Elrond. What was worse than that was that the elfling was without a doubt hiding injuries. Elrond would not press. Not yet anyways.Elladan stepped forward. "I'll show you the Valley!" He stated and started to walk off. Legolas followed the twin sons of Elrond to wherever they led him. 'It can't be that bad here. If only my King could be as merciful as Lord Elrond is.' Legolas mused.
