Rory was still embarrassed. You'd think 3 days after dialing a wrong number you'd be over it but Rory was still cringing every time she thought about it. This by the way was a lot.
It wasn't even the whole wrong number thing that was getting her so wound up. It was how she acted afterward, the phone call to apologize. The way she got all awkward and blubbery not even 5 seconds after hearing his stupidly hot voice answer the phone (wait what?) is reason she is on the first train to cringe-city with a slight detour into kill-me-now.
Will needs to stop thinking about it. It happens all the time; someone rings the bakery, he answers the phone,
"hello, Jayne's bakery how can I help you?"
Then comes the "oh sorry wrong number I was actually looking for what's-his-face or ew-ger-ma-flip"
Then they go on to the standard "oh and so sorry to bother you"
and his basic reply "it's alright sir"
or "it's absolutely fine madam."
Then one of the hangs up and its forgotten. That's just how it works, how Will likes it to work. Then, like a hurricane, in comes this girl and her stupid apology call and all of a sudden she is stuck in Will's head and she just won't budge. And you want to know what's worse, for the last 3 days all Will has been doing is hoping this James guy turns out to be a dick.
