chapter 4: bestfriend?

"It's just another manic Monday I wish it was Sunday 'cause that's my fun day! "

' quiet down sweetie! Dad is talking to someone. And we can hear your voice from outside ' mom approached.

' Sorry, mom! ' I replied. its 6: 30, so I rushed to go to school. I asked Mang Julio to hurry a bit, but then I was surprised it was TRAFFIC! I arrived at school a minute before 7.

I ran to the classroom and * phew * I wasn't late at all. I fixed my hair and styled it. That was a relief, I would never ever be late again I swear. It was recess, my girlfriends and I agreed to eat together. I was staring at the floor going to the other classroom where my girls are at when I heard something.

'HI Kathryn! Goodmorning ' it was Daniel I beamed him with a smile. What's up with him?

I told my girlfriends about this. and they were like! REALLY? Tippy even added that she was the first friend of Daniel here in school. My heart skipped a beat, was is this? I placed my palm at my chest, I can hear the beating of my heart.

It is very odd from usual and I don't know why. I ignored it for how many months and continued with my life.

DANIEL'S POV :

I greeted Kath good morning, I wanted to say my thanks but I was afraid. 

I am heading to the school canteen when I saw Janella and Kath and the others. They asked me if I wanted to join in but I declined. Instead, I asked Janella about something. The only way I could get her attention.

after this, I bought food. I rushed to go to the classroom and found myself asleep.

the bell rang again.

and it was time for classes. I wasn't interested so I shook my head and opened a book as if I was listening.

I waited up until the classes ended.
I went home early and found mom in the kitchen. She's quite busy with her is our new housekeeper.

' Ma! what's with all this locomotion? ' I asked.
' it's nothing danieboy! Dad is going to eat here. Oh! I forgot we are already okay and we planned never to fight again ' mom said.
' Promises... promises...I hope you'd keep this promise it's the 7th time he had done this to us! ' I answered.

' MA'AM,  SIR! DINNER IS SERVED' our housekeeper announced.

I hurried downstairs.  I don't want to see the face of my old man. I am full of anguish since then I could not bear watching his eyes.

I ate and ate and ate.. and then I finished ahead. They were all surprised why I was so swift at eating. That's because I heard the doorbell ring so I ran upstairs and locked my room. I turned the iPod and played songs from the Beatles.

I also logged on my Facebook looking for something to do. 

I was totally surprised when Kathryn sent me a friend request.

" KATHRYN BERNARDO ADDED YOU AS A FRIEND: CONFIRM OR DECLINE"

as quick as a bubble I clicked on confirm.

I checked on my chatbox. She was online as well as Janella.

Kathryn chatted me...

K: hi Daniel :)

D: hello :)

K: could you be my best friend?

D:

( I was not sure of what to type because it was all of a sudden but then I replied..)

D: yes

K: okay! best?

D: best :)

but then the internet connection turned off! argh! brownout! what the heck!

so I decided to sleep. I can't forget what just happened and all those conversations we had. It always pops into my mind...
