Later that night, Maine finds her Nanay snuggling with his Tatay on the couch.

Nag mano siya to greet them.
"Menggay ang aga nyo ah. Nag overspeed ba yung manliligaw mo?" her Tatay asks.
"Ay hindi po, light lang ang traffic, Tay."
"Asan na si RJ? Hindi mo na pinapasok, makapag-kape man lang sana."
"Pinauwi ko na po. Nagkape na yun kina Ate Nikki. Naihian kasi ulit ni Matt-Matt nung naglalaro sila kaya ayun- pinauwi ko na."
"A second cup wouldn't hurt."
"Nay, yang tataa- gusto mo bang ampunin si RJ?"
"Your siblings like him. Your Tatay approves of him--"
"Nay, hindi pa a!" her Tatay protests.
"Hush you, you approve of the boy."
Her dad grumbles and cuddles her mother closer. Which, ew.
"RJ is courteous, guileless, and gentlemanly. What's not to like?"
"Ikaw, Nay ha, kanina pa kayo ni RJ. Tay si Nanay po kanina..."
"Tatay, 15 minutes late si Menggay kanina."
Her father 'tsk, tsk' at her.
"I could see the poor boy from my table by the window, sweating bullets outside his car, waiting for you. Alam mo kung ano pang nakita ko?"
"Pawisang Alden Richards?" Maine imagines RJ sa initan ng araw, sweating in a tank top, droplets of sweat slowly trickling from his neck—AY WAIT, not the time for this Nicomaine!
Her mother gives her a knowing look nang napalunok siya sa visuals ng imagination niya.
"Nakita ko may tinulungan siyang buntis na tumawid sa highway, yung cap niya binigay niya dun sa naglalako ng tubig, and the bottle of water he bought, binigay nya dun sa matandang security personnel na nasa arawan din."
"Yeah, he's a good Samaritan. So?"
"What a man does when he thinks nobody's looking defines what kind of a man he is. 15 minutes. He thought no one was looking and he helped people. He's a good one Menggay. He's a good man."
Tumungo si Meng at napangiti. Yeah, she's a little proud of RJ. Berilayt lang hihi!
"Kung may balak kang ampunin yung bata, okay lang sakin Nay." Tatay suddenly says. "Basta Menggay pag inampon ng Nanay mo yung manliligaw mo hindi na kayo pwedeng magligawan ha"
"Ikaw talaga Tatay!" Her mother pinches her father's arms. "Pwede ko naman maging anak ang batang yun nang hindi inaampon."
She smirks.
"Diba, Meng?"

Early the next day, RJ receives a call from Je.
"'Lo, Je? Aga-aga pa ah."
Je clears his throat with an exaggerated pomposity.
"Sa ulo ng mga nagbabagang balita: Sinech itey na gwapong bokalista ng sikat na banda na nasight sung na may ka date na mudra. Ang fafa na itu na may pagka playboy kumapit na rin ba sa sugarmama? Namataan ng aming insider sa isang high end bistro sa—"
He hangs up.
"Damnation!"
