Friday June 28th

I was still tired when I woke up. We walked for a long time. There was no sign of any of the ingredients. But after a couple of hours I heard a giggle. I turned to where I heard it. “Did you hear that?” I asked.

            “Hear what?” Trash asked.

“It was a giggle.” Then I heard it again. The trolls went over to where the sound was coming from. They raised their clubs and brought them down on the bush.

“A pixy.” Trash said when it came up and started yelling at the trolls. She spoke in a weird language. She waved her arms and then the trolls started hovering in the air. Then the flew and hit a tree. The pixy started giggling again. “Get her.” Trash said.

Everyone tried to grab her. She went just high enough to get out of our reach. The trolls got back up. “Hey,” Slug yelled up at her.

“We’re gonna get ya.” Daniel said. They ran at the tree she was hiding in. They started climbing it. She made Daniel fly into the bushes. But Slug got behind her and grabbed her.

“I got it.” Slug cheered. The pixy tried to wriggle free. She screamed when Slug opened his mouth and was about to drop her in.

“Slug. Don’t eat her.” Jake shouted. “We need her for the potion.”

Slug grumbled but brought her down. Slug and Daniel complained. “Two down, two more to go.” Jake said. The pixy banged on the walls of the vial. I kind of felt bad seeing her trapped like that. She was going to suffocate. Jake saw my expression. “Lindsey, we need her.”

I nodded, “I know.” Jake put her away so I wouldn’t have to see her. Then we continued walking through the forest. The trolls continued complaining. The goblin shook his head in disgust at the trolls suggestions about cooking the pixy.

It started raining. The trolls looked up and glared at the sky. Then they grinned at each other. “Do you remember?” Slug asked Daniel.

“I do.” then Daniel said. “We have another song.”

“We don’t want to hear it.” Jake said.

            “To bad.” Slug laughed.

Then they took a deep breath and started singing. “If all of the raindrops were snot covered pork chops, oh what a world this would be. I’d stand outside with my mouth open wide, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. Oh, if all the raindrops were snot covered pork chops , oh what a world this would be.”

There was a pause and they started another verse. “If all of the snowflakes were toenail covered cheesecakes, oh what a world this would be. I’d stand outside with my mouth opened wide, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.”

Another pause. Then, “If all of the hailstones were crunched up leg bones, oh what a world this would be. I’d stand outside with my mouth open wide, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.”

“If all of the-” Jake pulled out his sword when they started another verse. He pointed it directly at them. “You wouldn’t dare use that on us.” Said Daniel.

“You sure about that?” The trolls looked at each other. Then started singing again. Jake took a swing at them. They screamed and jumped back. “Missed.” Jake said disappointed. But the trolls stopped singing.
