After battering two dragons and many draugr, you had finally made your way inside Skuldafn temple. After entering the temple, you came to a large chamber with drag. You avoided the dart trap in the western pathway and continued your way until coming to the first of many puzzles.
The puzzle consisted of three pillars, each separated by a wall, and a switch between the pillars and the doorways. Each pillar had three pictographs: Eagle, Snake, and Whale. On the walls beside the two outside pillars we're matching pictographs for those pillars. The west pillar was a Whale and the east was a Snake. You set the outer pillars so that the pictographs faced each other (e.g., Snake faces Snake). Above each doorway we're more pictographs. Above the doorway was a snake, which leads to the destination. You faced the pictograph on the central pillar so that they matched the door. You then pulled the lever to open door.
The next small room was full of even more draugr, seriously these things are everywhere. The following room had multiple frostbite spiders who made good use of their webbing to block the door and cover a chest. You solved the second puzzle room by doing Whale—Snake—Eagle (upper level left, middle lower level, upper level right), with the solutions for the first and third shown above them and the second behind the platform. You used Whirlwind Sprint from the platform to bypass the puzzle, entering the door to go to another section of Skuldafn Temple.
You took out the draugr and kept moving. Picking up the paste you crossed the bridge but without noticing you stepped on the pressure plate trap at the doorway to the next room. Activating, it released a lantern that lit up the oil slick ahead and also triggers a dart trap. You ground in pain as darts shot into your arms and fire burned your legs. You quickly went up the staircase and met three draugr, which you dispatched easily with another oil slick and lantern. You pulled the lever near the oil to open the gate on the other side of the room.
You followed the wide tunnel, grabbing the content out of the chest on the right side. Being careful when you reached the large oil slick, as there was another lantern poised over it that will drop if you step on the pressure plate in front. You avoided it but used it to your advantage when you came across some high-level draugr; by running away and leading them into it.
You then arrived at a puzzle door that was guarded a powerful draugr carrying the diamond claw needed to open it. The combination to the door was, from top to bottom, Fox—Moth—Dragon; you knew this by examining the claw. You made your way through the next two rooms until finally reaching the exit.
You ended up on a large rocky platform, above where you first entered Skuldafn. You defeated the draugr who we're there to meet you, you used Unrelenting Force to send them spring over the edge before taking the wooden platform ahead of you to go down a small tower that had some good loot on the shelves and a large chest at the bottom. Returning to the top, you noticed two dragons above you, perched on columns. You knew then and there this is where you need to be to finish the quest. But before you could enter Alduin's portal to Sovngarde, you had to kill a dragon priest named Nahkriin. This dragon priest was tough but it didn't stop you from taking the fight to him. When you reached the top of the stairs Nahkriin noticed you and made his way toward his staff. You started your assault immediately. He didn't start attacking until he got his staff. After Nahkriin grabbed his staff, he turned around to face you. You made sure to dodge his attacks since his staff did a lot of shock damage per second. Any shock resistance potions or enchanted apparel you had you used now. He didn't start off with full health, which was very helpful and since you started attacking him before he grabbed his staff you we're able to kill him in short time. After defeating Nahkriin, you picked up his staff and mask and activated the Dragon Seal.
You were transported to a place surrounded by mist. After clearing it using your Clear Skies shout, you we're shocked by what you saw. You weren't in Sovngaede. You we're in what seemed a very old throne room that had been left in ruins. The throne was broken, the rug discoloured, the flags and curtains torn and a fine layer of dust covered everything. The air was cold and crisp which added to the dark, damp atmosphere. An uneasy feeling kept upon you but it quickly turned to fear when a low, raspy voice called out of the shadows.
