Friend or Foe ~ Alduin x Reader

A New Home

You woke up to a wonderful smell that had managed to crawl out of the kitchen and into your room. You sat up slowly in order to not cause any further pain to your lower back but to your surprise there was none. You lifted up your robes and noticed that all your cuts and bruises we're healed and all your scars gone.

"What on Nirn"

You whispered quietly to yourself as you continued to check the rest of your body for any injuries that had also disappeared.  However, you were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"M'lady?"

The voice sounded old and slightly cracked. You assumed that the visitor was probably an elderly lady.

"Come in"

The door opened and your suspicions were correct. An old petite woman walked in with silvery grey hair, which to your surprise, was the same colour as her eyes. You wondered if the woman used to have blue eyes and the colour had just faded away but you were unsure. You could tell that the woman had once been a beautiful young girl but sadly that beauty had been marked with wrinkles and tired, worn skin.

"Sleep well my dear?"

"Um...yes, thank you"

"Good, a young girl like yourself needs her rest"

"Yes... may I ask who you are?"

"My name is Hilda but all you need to know is that I am the chamber maid. So, please call me what you wish M'lady"

"Thank you but I think I'll just call you Hilda"

"Well...Thank you M'lady"

She seemed touched by your kindness as if it had been a long time someone had shown her kindness.

"How long have you been working here Hilda?"

"If I remember correctly it was just after we settled in Skyrim after following our leader Ysgramor across the border from Atmora in hopes of getting away from the Civil War"

"What but that's impossible! That was in the Late Merethic Era"

"Indeed"

"But that would make you about 6940 years old"

"Correct"

"But how?"

"Well have you ever heard the legend about how Alduin can "eat" away the age of his victims"

"Yes, his ghost once ate the entire Nord population down to age six after being summoned by Orkey"

"Well it's all true"

"Great"

This saddened you slightly since it meant you would probably spending the rest of eternity being the wife of a monster. So what he saved you twice? The man had killed thousands of people and probably would of continued to if i didn't come along.

"I brought you some clothes M'lady"

"Thank you"

She put the clothes on the end of the bed and began retreating to the door.

"Breakfast will be ready in ten minuets M'lady, it'll be served in the dining room"

"Thank you, but please Hilda call me (Y/N)"

She nodded her head and left with a smile as she shut the door behind her. You lifted up one of the dresses that Hilda had brought in. It was a beautiful soft blue dress. It was like nothing you had ever seen before with long open sleeves that flowed down the side. You put it on with a silver mettle corset and then brushed through your hair before plating a few strands.

You heard Alduin call for you from downstairs, so with a heavy sigh, you got up and made your way downstairs to the dining room.

"Good morning my dear"

He took your hand and kissed it softly. His fiery breath sent shivers down your spine.

"M-morning"

He chuckled lightly as he could feel you trembling under him. He guided you to your seat before pulling it out for you.

"T-thank you"

You mentally slapped yourself for stuttering but for some reason you just couldn't help yourself. Something about this guy just filled you with warmth and caused you to melt.

"Did you sleep well?"

He sat across from you at the other end of the long table.

"Uh...yeah, what about you?"

You we're so embarrassed, you were acting like a fool, simply amusing him.

"If you didn't notice I didn't go to sleep last night"

"Why not?"

"Far more important things to be doing"

"For example?"

"Organising our wedding of cause"

You nearly choked on your food when he said this. He smirked at you as he took a sip out of his cup. You wanted to say something but couldn't find the words.

"Why don't we spend the day outside in the gardens today"

Still unable to say anything you simply nodded your head.

"Wonderful"

He got up and walked towards you, grabbing your hand.

"Let's go, my love"

He led you to a door and when he opened it you were greeted to something you had not seen in awhile.
