The Break In
~
Caellum and Caleb made their way stealthily through the woods on their way to the school. They were both silent as they made their way to the door, pulling it open quietly.
“For such a great school, it has the worst security,” Caleb whispered, earning a grin from Caellum who had begun making his way to the lift.
“We need to blend in with the students,” Caellum said as they made their way into the lift. Caleb looked down at his white shirt and cursed. Caellum noticed this and chucked his hoodie at the older man.
“Thanks,” Caleb mumbled, quickly pulling it over his head, just as the lift door opened.
They slipped out of the metal box, unnoticed, and quickly made their way down the corridor. Finally after a few turns, they reached a crowded corridor and slipped in amongst the crowds. Just as they thought they were safe, an elder dressed in a long dark coat appeared at the end of the corridor and made his way through the crowds. Caellum grabbed Caleb’s arm and pulled him to the very edge of the corridor, turning their backs on the Elder as they heard him walk briskly past.
Sighing with relief, Caellum beckoned Caleb to follow him and they made their way towards the dormitory, where they found Rodney sat on his bed in an unflattering position with a girl Caellum recognised to be Cassidy. She screamed covering her naked torso with a shirt, trying desperately to cling on to any remaining dignity. Gathering up her things, she fled from the room her red hair flying behind her.
"What the hell, man!" Rodney growled, throwing the duvet across his body.
"Where's Amy?" Caellum asked, ignoring Rodney's death stares.
"How am I supposed to know? I don't stalk her."
"You're meant to be her friend," Caellum roared, getting angry. Caleb placed his hand on Caellum's shoulder and pulled him away before he could do some serious damage to Rodney.
Rodney looked ashamed of himself and hung his head. "They took her to the confinement room," he muttered.
"What?" Caellum breathed. "Why?"
Rodney looked more ashamed and looked away from Caellum's challenging gaze. "She turned me," he whispered. "To help me."
Both Caellum and Caleb's jaws dropped and they stared at Rodney like he was mad. "She did what?" Caleb gaped, his eyes wide.
"I was desperate to be a vampire so she turned me because she didn't want to lose me. She didn't want to at first, but I begged her. I couldn't face not having a purpose," Rodney said sighing. "It was a coward's way out, I know."
Caellum growled, stepping closer to Rodney. "You just let them take her?! After she saved your sorry ass?!"
"They'd have put me there too if I did anything!"
Caellum shook his head angrily. He couldn't understand how someone could be as selfish as to risk someone else's life for their own gain. It angered him to think that Amy was locked up somewhere because of Rodney's stupidity.
Caleb looked as if he was thinking the same thing. "You're gonna regret the day she turned you," he muttered, before beckoning Caellum to follow him from the room. "You won't tell anyone we're here either."
With that they left the dormitory, leaving Rodney sat motionless on his bed.

Amy sat alone in the blank room, staring at the opposite wall thoughtfully. She'd already been here for at least twelve hours ... no, she looked down at her watch ... two hours. How is time moving so slowly? she thought. Another hundred years of this is going to be painful.
Slowly, she leant her head back against the wall staring up at the plain ceiling, how much longer was she going to have to be in this room before someone realised she was missing? She tapped her hands against the wall, listening carefully to the beat. God, I'm really bored, she thought and quickly stopped tapping the wall.
Just as she was about to drift off the door burst open and Caellum and Caleb pushed their way inside. She stared at them, her jaw dropping.
"Caellum!" she cried, standing up and throwing herself into his arms. She wrapped her arms tightly around him, her arms snaking up to his neck. Caellum chuckled, quickly pecking her on the lips.
Caleb cleared his throat and both Amy Caellum turned to look at him. "Who's he?" Amy whispered, snuggling closer to Caellum.
"Caleb," Caleb said, holding out his hand. "Your brother."
Amy nodded, before quickly hugging him. "What's the escape plan?" she asked.
Caellum and Caleb looked shameful and bashfully smiled at her.
"You didn't think of one, did you?" she said with an amused tone in her voice.
Caellum grabbed her hand and they made their way to the door. Caleb led the way through the corridor.
"What happened to the guards?" Amy asked, there were at least three outside the door.
Caellum blushed, looking away. Caleb smirked. "Caellum's fists do a lot of his talking for him," he said with a chuckle.
"You knocked them out?" Amy gasped.

Robert and Hannah ran through the woods, hurriedly making their way back to the school. They had almost reached the door, when Robert was thrown sideways and he crumpled against the trunk of a tree. Groaning, he pulled himself up to see Lucien holding Hannah up by the neck. She was squealing and thrashing about, but Lucien's grip was strong.
"Where do you think you're going, pretty?" he asked Hannah, who shivered violently.
"You're disgusting," she choked, kicking at his legs.
"Let her go!" Robert cried, picking himself up and throwing himself at Lucien. The taller man just chuckled, catching him in a choke-hold. Robert gasped for breath as Lucien's hand tightened around his neck.
"Lucien, leave him! It's me you want!" Hannah hissed. "He's just a human; there's nothing special about him!"
Lucien's smile increased and he threw Robert to the ground. Robert looked at Hannah, feeling hurt before turning away.
"Go back to the school, Robert," Hannah whispered. "You mean nothing to me." Hurt flashed in Robert's eyes before he began walking back to the school. Hannah watched him go feeling a wave of sadness wash over her; it was for his own good. Lucien still had an iron grip on her throat and he didn't seem to have any intention of letting her go.
"Well, well, well, my master will be pleased with me," Lucien muttered, "but less so with you."
"Go to hell, Lucien," Hannah hissed and he threw her over his shoulder.
