"Riley?.."I said and walked towards her.Riley smiled and nodded, "That's me!"Riley said with a fake smile as we started to walk to the park.We sat on a bench and I thought for a second. "So....what did you want to talk about?"I asked.Acting like I was clueless but I knew I've done a lot of messed up shit this year so..there was a lot to talk about.
"Smackle..You and her.,Maya and you..Me and you"Riley said and stared straight ahead."New years..." I nodded end remembered everything that happened.Especially seeing Riley run away crying when Farkle didn't answer her question..Half of that was my fault,Smackle just had to chose me to kiss on midnight,it just had to be me who hurt Riley the most. I didn't want to hurt Riley.But I did.
"Look Riley,that kiss between Smackle and me..she did it to make Farkle jealous"I said quickly,Riley instantly looked at me in a confused manner."W-what?"she asked. "She was using me to get Farkle jealous all along,and When she found out you and Farkle started were dating,she wanted him back"I explained and Riley nodded. "I'm really sorry about what happened"I said and placed my hand on her shoulder.
"It's fine,you didn't do anything"Riley said."what really hurt me that night was Farkle admitting he still had feelings for Smackle...It hurt so much and it still does-" "We can't control our feelings, Riley..but you don't deserve this..at all"I said and hugged her,she hugged me back and cried.I comforted her until she stopped."And...I'm also really sorry for all the shit I made you go through this year".
"You mean for using me to get to Maya?"Riley asked and smiled."It's okay,Lucas" "Yeah...I realized I was really stupid for doing that"I told her."Friends?" "Only friends..those feelings I had for you in the beginning of the year are gone"Riley said and smiled."Farkle took your place and he's staying". I smiled and nodded."whatever you want"I said and she smiled. We would've stayed like this forever but then Zay came and we went to a movie together.
