No one was at the lunch table today, not anyone of my friends. Not even Josh. I was standing there, trying to think of any possibility of where the hell they are when a Freshman handed me a folded paper.
Your locker. –J
I looked around as if expecting to see my friends but all I see are students busy eating their way through lunch. I didn't waste time and proceeded on my locker. A paper was taped on it and I opened it.
Old locker. –J
That's when I realized that the note meant the abandoned locker where I remember telling Amy my feelings about Josh. I ran like I'm on a race, thinking of what is happening and also entertaining the idea that this is all but a prank.
When I opened the door of the abandoned locker, I wasn't expecting the clean and neat floor with rose petals leading to a candle lit table and a grinning Josh standing beside. I looked at him with my heart beating against my chest and he did the same. We stayed like that for a minute or so before he walked closer and engulfed me in an embrace. He then breakaway, getting something from his pocket. My heart is on my throat, fearing of what to happen next.
My eyes darted to his face as he looked so serene, so lovely and adorable.
"Frankie, I'm in love with you." Despite having a knowledge about it, it still surprised me when I heard it come out from his mouth. My heart is feeling things all at once but all I can say is that I'm happy. And I feel the same way.
He then opened that thing from his pocket and it's an old looking necklace. The chain is thin and gold with the same material for the pendant but is shaped as round as a ball. "This is from my grandma. And I'll be giving this to you as a sign of my promise. A promise to love you and wait for you when you're ready."
Before I knew it, I'm already shedding tears of happiness, of guilt, of shame and fear of what to happen in the near future. But I managed to say the thing that is important for the moment.
"I love you too, Josh."
And he proceeded to put the necklace around me, as if saying that I'm sealed for him forever. Which is true, I'm his and I could see this go on until forever.
