Chapter 27

Kelly's P.O.V.

"So I have an assignment for you." I mentally groaned and looked at Jade, the teacher for the "mind fucked people" as we all call it.

Why? Because it's basically a huge long word that means when you have that voce in your head like I do.

I looked over to Nate and he shrugged.

"Which is?" Landon said from the other side of the room. He's new and he's Danny's new roommate actually. Danny says he doesn't talk though. Like ever.

"You'll be writing a song describing something that you've been through." some people had a panicked look on their face. "It is optional but I would love for everyone to do it." She gave a reassuring smile to those few people.

"So what we just write a song and then sing it for everyone?" she nodded. "What's the point of that." she shrugged.

"I thought it would be a less stressful way to let out something you've been holding in." she was way too happy about this so I just nodded not wanting to press any farther. "Well that's all today guys." I stood up and locked arms with Nate. We walked to Landon who was staring off into nowhere. Letting go of Nate I bent down in front of him.

"Hey Landon?" He jumped and his breathing fastened, once his eyes fixed on me he calmed down.

"Sorry." he apologized and stood up, quickly walking out of the room. I sighed and Nate pulled me up.

"I'll meet you back at the room okay? I'm gonna go try and talk to him." He nodded and we walked out of the room going separate ways.

After twenty minutes of searching I saw Katlin. I muttered a thanks under my breath and jogged to her.

"Hey have you seen Landon come by here?" she looked at me curiously. "He's tall about 6'3 and he's got kinda shaggy almost black hair?" She shook her head in confusion. "He's got a black t shirt with a white circle on it and then a hoodie over it." she nodded quickly.

"Oh Yeah! Danny's new roommate Isn't he?" I nodded. "He went towards the court yard." I thanked her and quickly walked towards the double doors that led to the court yard.

I looked around and then sighed as I gave up. I thought about climbing the big tree in the middle of the lawn and after a five minute argument with laziness I gave in.

As I reached the branch I normally sit on I found it occupied by none other than Landon. I can't say I wasn't shocked.

"Hey." he turned and looked at me.

"Um... Hey." I laughed at his awkwardness.

"I should slap you." he looked at me with wide confused eyes. "You have taken my branch and have found my hiding spot." a tiny smile formed for a second then faded.

"Sorry." he scooted over and I sat next to him.

"I was kidding. But seriously if I randomly disappear that means I'm probably here." He nodded and I sighed. "Wanna talk about anything?" I nudged him with a smile on my face. he shook his head no and I let the smile fade. "If I talk will you listen and nod to questions?" His eyes sparkled and I could tell that was a yes.

After a five minute silence I spoke.

"So do you like cats?" he looked at me obviously not expecting that.

"What kind of question is that?" I laughed and so did he.

"You have a nice laugh." I smiled and he shook his head, the smile quickly fading from his lips and mine.

"Why are you here?" he asked quietly glancing at me. I shrugged.

"You seem interesting... and I really like your shirt." the corner of his mouth twitched upwards and I smiled. "Danny tells me you never talk. Why?" he shrugged but looked away from me. "Did he do something?" he sook his head and looked down. I saw a tear glisten as it fell to the earth.
