The horsemen

I decided to take Anna to the park just to let her relax and have some fun before we had to leave. She deserved some time to be normal.  She ran around the park happily, making a bee line for the swings. I found a bench where I sat and watched her. Processing everything I just discovered.

I hadn't been seated long before a man sat next to me. I cast him a quick glance and from what I could tell he had dirty blond hair and green eyes. A thin line of stubble defined his jaw line. He was handsome but something about his sudden appearance made me uneasy. Was he a horseman?
"I'm Hunter" he said, pausing a moment for me to say my name but when I didn't he continued. "Your not from round here are you?" His questions furthered my suspicions.  I quickly started to make my way over to Dora- fuck I mean Anna. But before I had barely taken a step he grabbed my wrist. "I'm not going to hurt you." He whispered "but I can't say the same for that man over there" he gestured with his head. "He's been watching since you left that flat."
"How do you know that?"
"Because I have too" he retorted with a smirk
"Who are you?" I questioned, alarm rising in my body as I flicked my eyes towards the swings. Anna was still playing happily oblivious to the danger.
"I'm Hunter." He stated calmly "Lucy told me you had questions that could cause you more harm than good. She instructed me to protect you."
"I don't need your protection." I spat
"Really?" He asked. God was he arrogant. "Guess you can handle the the horsemen  watching you just fine by yourself then." He said making a move to stand from the bench. Only now do I realise how tall he is. He towers over my 5'7" frame, he must be at least 6'4". His large muscles strained against his shirt. I have a feeling that he isn't going to walk away easily.
"I can handle myself just fine" I remarked pulling my arm from his grip.  I turned away without castings a second glance back at him. "Anna we need to go" I called as I approached her.
We began to walk quickly through the park, one glance behind me revealed a single man walking behind us at a distance. Maybe they weren't there for us? We made a sharp turn, the gate to the street in sight. When two figures stepped into our path only a couple of meters in front of us. Shit. They were both dressed in white. Their black hair was cut short.  Slowly they bag an to approach us. Shit.

Grabbing Anna I ran off the path and straight through  a large group of trees. People began appearing from all directions. We were cornered. Shit. Shit.shit.
A women stepped forward her pale skin appearing irradecent. Her bright red hair falling to her waist. She was dressed completely  in white. They all were. Her voice was sharp when she spoke. "Look at them. So Weak. It's pathetic. Mommy and daddy not her to protect you?" She said feigning concern.
"What do you want?"
"You really have no idea how important you to are do you?" She asked seeming amazed. "We only want to know one thing and then we will let you go. I promise." She smiled it was a cruel and calculated smile. I felt Anna shift in my arms. "Where did your wretched parents put the disease?" She asked casually, examining her nails.
"I don't know. I don't know what your talking about." I stated trying to act as if she didn't scare me.
"Your lying!" She screamed
In the blink of an eye she was standing in front of us. "I won't ask again." Her hot breath fanning across my face.  "Tell. Me."  She whispered menacingly.  When I didn't reply  she sprang for my throat.  Choking me and slamming my body against a tree that stood a few feet behind me. Causing me to drop Anna from my grip. She began to choke me as I clawed at her hands desperately trying to regain my breath. I flung one leg out trying to kick her off as I saw Anna being snatched by a man to stop her running. There was nothing I could do. My vision began to blur as I gasped for my final breaths. Hot tears rolling down my cheeks as I thought of how I had failed. Just as I felt the fight leave my body I was dropped, slumping to the floor. As the blackness began to fade I noticed that the cold, icey grip had gone from around my neck. I scanned the scene before me.  I saw that the group of people, at least 10. Were crumpled on the floor writhing in pain. I glanced over to Anna only to see her screaming. Screaming so loud that I thought my ear drums may burst. Slowly the group stopped moving. The ginger girl lying on her back at my feet. Chocking on her own blood. She looked at me, utter terror written across her face. "She is Pandora's-" She wrasped  before her chest fell flat. She is what? I was shaken from my thoughts by someone screaming my name- my real name. "Hope!"  a mans voice yelled pulling me from the chaos that were my thoughts as I surveyed the scene. Hunters green eyes appeared before me. "We need to go." He said shaking me. "Hope we need to go now!" He yells in my face. In an instant I had Anna in my arms. We had to get the hell out of here. Lucy was right. We need to run.

We sped through the streets of Denver. Hunter was driving. I'm not sure when I agreed to let him come with us but it was clear that we needed all the help we could get. I sat in the back with Dora. We had ditched out fake identities. They had already been revealed so it seemed pointless to keep up this charade any longer.
Dora was nestled into me. Whimpering. Her soft voice muttering as she fell in and out of consciousness. "I killed them. I killed them all." She repeated to herself over and over. My heart broke for her. I couldn't comfort her. I didn't know how. It seems the more we discover about our parents and their past the less we know ourselves. Finally she fell asleep and the car descended into silence.
"Where are we going?" I asked quietly, almost to myself.
"Far. Fucking far away. People will be asking questions and it's possibly Dora is a danger to people if she looses control. We can't risk her killing innocents." He replied calmly. I nodded. He couldn't see me but I was exhausted and I was to busy drowning in my thoughts to come up with a better response.  "What is she?"
He blew out a breath, "I have no idea." He said shifting uncomfortably in his seat. He was lying.
