Horse men

The doors flew open. The same grey eyed man stood in the door way. Although he was tiny- smaller than me. He didn't seem so intimidating suddenly.  I take in his full appearance. I'm shocked that I didn't notice the white hazmat suit. Must have been the tequila.
Although it didn't fit him properly and I questioned the amount of protection it could give him.
I glance over his shoulder. They are all wearing them. Every god damn one of them. I laugh. A cruel laugh. "Your scared of a god damn child!" I shriek.
I'm kneeling in the same courtyard that the vans pulled into. They are all neatly parked along the side now. Flood lights beam down on us. I feel as if I'm naked the way the people in white stare at us.  Dora kneels to my right and Lucy to my left. Her head is hung low. A sense of defeat looms over the three of us.
When they first dragged Dora alongside me she had looked at me with so much anguish I thought it may just kill me. In a weird way I hoped it did. Tears were rolling down her cheeks as she stared up at me with her big blue eyes. "It's gonna be ok." I told her but she just shook her head. She knew there was no way out for us now. The innocent child I knew 6 months ago was long gone. Her arms are covered in scratches. She clearly put up a fight. A small smile played across my lips knowing she didn't go easy.

Suddenly we are dragged to our feet. Dora is dragged away from me towards the east side of the compound. "Get your god damn hands off her!" I scream making a lunge towards her before being pulled back. "Dora I love you." I yelled as I felt stray tears trickle down my face.  We were gonna get through this I chanted in my head. When this was all over we would go somewhere far away- just the two of the us. I had to believe this wasn't the end.
