Author's Note: Hey guys! This is my first time writing a fanfic like this, and I absolutely adore Wally. The minute I saw him, I simply fell in love with his character. However, there aren't very many fanfics of him online, which made me quite disappointed.
So, I decided to make one myself! Now, I only just started playing ORAS two weeks ago, so I made this slight based off my own personal gameplay of it, and it may seem pretty bad, but that's because it is currently 4:47 AM and I haven't had a wink of sleep yet.
Anyways, I really hope you guys enjoy this, and please tell me your thoughts in the comments below! Thank you very much, and please enjoy. ^w^
----------------------------------------
It has been about two weeks since I left home and started my Pokemon journey with my female Grovyle, Xylia. I had just entered Mauville City from Route 110, when I saw Wally and his uncle just up ahead, making my heart skip a beat.
Wally was an adorable shy boy I met at my father's gym in Petalburg city, about three days after I started my journey. I remember when I first met him, he was so nervous and looked so fragile. But after seeing him smile when he caught his Ralts had made me fall head over heels for him.
I gulped a bit as I made my way towards the green haired boy and his uncle, trying to keep my cool so I could say hi. However, he hadn't noticed me and ran off in the direction of the Pokemon Gym before I had the chance to even call to him.
I sighed and continued on my way, exploring a bit through Mauville city before going in the same direction Wally had went, heading straight to the Pokemon Center to have my Pokemon healed. Once that was done, I went with Xylia and headed towards the Gym, hoping to challenge the leader.
"Uncle, I'm begging you!", I heard a familiar voice say. I looked over and saw none other than Wally once again right at the entrance of the Gym. He looked very upset as he spoke to his uncle, making me frown as I walked towards them.
"I want to challenge this Gym to see how much stronger I've become! Please! You'll let me, won't you?" Wally asked in distress.
"Now hold on, Wally...," his uncle began, "It's certainly true that you've grown quite a lot stronger alongside your Pokemon. But don't you think that jumping right into challenging a Gym might be pushing it?"
The boy shook his head in reply before speaking again. "I'm not pushing it! If it's me and my Ralts, we can beat anyone!" He declared strongly, my eyes widening in surprise. Wally looked so determined and strong about this. I had never seen him in such a way. It was a much different side of him than I was used to.
I took a breath before speaking up, catching both of their attention. "Um, h-hi Wally..!" I exclaimed, smiling shyly.
Wally looked over and smiled cutely back at me, making my heart skip a beat. "Ah! (Y/n)! It's great to see you again!"
"It's great to see you again too, Wally." I smiled a bit more, feeling my cheeks become a little hot. "How've you been?"
"I've been good. Ralts and I have gotten a lot stronger since we first met. Growing together!" He grinned back, making me smile even more, before he looked me straight in the eyes. "(Y/n), could I ask you something?"
"Huh? Oh of course! What is it?"
"I want to prove to you and my uncle both that I've gotten stronger, (Y/n)." He spoke, a strange look of determination in his eyes. "Please...help me once more... And have a battle with me!" He exclaimed strongly, taking my breath away.
I was completely shocked. Never before had Wally ever looked so...certain and determined about anything like he did now. It completely took me by surprise. However I was torn between accepting his challenge and refusing. If I accepted and defeated him, I might make him upset, but if I refused then he couldn't show his uncle his true strength like he so desired to do so.
