Chapter 9: A New Beginning

Things got really busy for me since I last updated this story. Even now, I'm still super busy with this being my final year of high school and the holidays coming up. However, I finally managed to make some time and finish writing this chapter.

I'm not entirely sure whether or not I will write another Pokemon fanfiction any time soon or even at all. I completely ran out of ideas for this thing after I finished ORAS, so it was pretty hard to come up with a way to end this. However, if I do write another Pokemon fanfiction, I plan on it being linked to this one in some way or another, and I'd like it to be for Pokemon Moon.

I already have many ideas for how it could go; such as the reader being able to choose who they want their love interest to be and having different endings for each love interest, adding in an OC of mine into the story with a small subplot for the reader's entertainment so they don't have to experience only the game's story, etc. I really hope that if I do end up making another Pokemon fanfic, that you all would enjoy it as much as you have with this one.

After what seemed like forever, we finally left the stratosphere and entered out into open space. I gasped in astonishment, looking all around me at the billions upon billions of stars. The sight completely took my breath away, causing me to forget my worries for just a moment. I soon snapped out of my trance upon seeing the large meteoroid up ahead of us, flying at an incredible and almost impossible speed towards me and the planet.

A wave of fear swept over me at the sight of it, knowing soon we would crash into it. I took a deep breath and held onto Rayquaza tightly as it Mega-Evolved, my eyes shutting closed as we neared the meteoroid at incredible speed. I was prepared for impact, believing that this would be my last moments alive. Within only seconds, we rocketed clean through the center large rock, causing it to crack and shatter into a few large pieces.

After a moment, I finally opened my eyes again, seeing part of the suit slightly damaged from the impact, yet that I was perfectly fine. With a sigh of relief, I glanced behind my shoulder to look at the smashed meteoroid pieces. My eyes widened at what I saw the rock chunks floating away from: A strange metal-looking triangle, which had been holding the asteroid together.

As I stared in confusion and curiosity, the triangle began to move back and forth in a strange zigzag formation. I watched as it continued to do this for a few seconds, before it finally stopped and it's color had become a light red. It began to shake violently, as if it were alive, before it finally stopped. What I saw next, both amazed and horrified me.

Four strange tentacle-like objects began to worm out of two sides of the triangle, two tentacles on each side. I stared in complete shock as both tentacles intertwined together before the triangle shattered into pieces. A strange looking creature with a red body, blue face, and a strange hole in it's chest that emanated a purple-hue, had appeared from the center of the triangle. It stared at me with a blank expression, before it began to attack us.

Rayquaza and I flew all around, trying to avoid its attacks. "J-just what is that thing!? Is it a Pokémon!?" I asked myself aloud as we evaded attack after attack. Eventually, we had no choice but to fight back if we wanted to be safe.

After a long battle, my trainer instincts told me to throw an Ultraball at the strange creature. Following this instinct, I threw the ball at the weakened Pokémon in open space. With a few shakes, it finally beeped and caught the strange DNA-like Pokémon. I sighed in relief, grabbing the Pokéball before it could drift off into space, and gently patted Rayquaza's head with a small yet tired smile. "We did it, buddy... Everyone's saved... All thanks to you."
