Chapter 3: Wait for Me

I'm deeply sorry for not updating this sooner! Things have been incredibly busy lately due to school and personal drama happening, so I haven't been able to continue playing my Alpha Sapphire game until just recently.

But I will try my best to keep this updated whenever I am able to and am not drowning in homework.

It has been almost an entire year since the day I left my home to start my Pokémon journey. I met many new friends, battled against old foes such as Team Aqua and Team Magma, and I faced many difficult challenges. However, even as things looked dark, I was able to overcome these challenges thanks to the help of my Pokémon.

Because of the strong bonds I shared with my partners, we were able to save the world from Team Aqua's attempt to drown the world by using Primal Kyogre's power one month ago. The battle was hard, but through the strength of my Pokémon and the support of my friends outside the cave, I was able to do the impossible: I caught Kyogre and put an end to the chaos that would have befallen the world.

Now, here I am at last, at Victory Road. I've come a long way since the day I left Littleroot Town. I've matured and learned about many things like friendship, loss, and even love... Now, my journey would soon come to an end as I made my way towards the deepest reaches of the cavern, challenging any trainer who stood in my way.

As Xylia and I continued onward, we reached a small flower meadow inside the cave. The sight was absolutely gorgeous and took my breath away. The air felt clean and the sound of the rushing water was soothing as I could feel a gentle breeze sway the beautiful red blossoms. However, I felt a sudden uneasiness inside of my chest. This place seemed too peaceful.... I felt like something was going to happen, and that it wasn't going to be good.

As we took a few steps forward out of the small dark tunnel, my eyes widened in shock by the figure I saw standing in the middle of the field as my heart raced in both pure joy and fear. Out of all the people I expected to see here was someone that I actually didn't want to meet here, the person I had grown attached to and fallen in love with....Wally.

I was overjoyed to see him again, especially after what happened with Kyogre a month ago. Not once had he left my mind after that incident, hoping that he was alright. Now, to see him standing there after all this time, brought me relief and proud that Wally was able to get this far.

However, I knew that the moment I step forward and our eyes meet, that we will have to battle one another. The thought of this made my heart sting in pain. I flinched as I could feel my body begin to shake nervously. I....I didn't want to fight Wally! Not now, not here of all places, where one of us would be forced to give up our dream once someone lost!

As I began to panic, Xylia put a claw on my shoulder. I glanced over to my partner, who gave a gentle smile and put her forehead against mine, as if to say it would be alright. I couldn't help but smile back as I hugged the large green Pokémon in thanks.

She was right, I couldn't let this get to me, not after everything we've been through and the challenges we've faced side by side. Wally and I had a similar dream, and no matter who would win the battle, the other would continue on and make both dreams come true in the loser's place.

I nod my head to Xylia as I pull away, smiling a bit more at my partner. She nodded back in reply before gently nudging her head against my back. I chuckled quietly to myself and returned her to her Pokéball. Finally, with a deep breath, I walked forward a little until Wally finally turned around and saw me behind him.
