[---Narrator's POV---]
"Norman?" (Y/n)'s mom called as the TV was playing in the other room. When there was no reply, she went into the room and frowned lightly at her husband, who was watching a show. "Norman? Sorry, I know you're watching your show, but..." She trailed off as the gym leader turned the TV off and glanced over at his wife.
"Hm? What is it?" He asked with a confused look, afraid he may have forgotten something.
"You do remember that we planned to go watch the meteor shower in Mossdeep..." She said, frowning a bit more.
"Ah... About that." Norman started, rubbing the back of his head nervously. "I've been meaning to tell you, but... It now looks like I'm going to have to be at the Gym that day."
"O-oh." (Y/n)'s mother frowned in disappointment, sighing a bit as she put a sad smile on her face. "Well... Work is work, I suppose."
The gym leader frowned and got up from the chair, walking over to his beloved wife and hugging her. "I'm sorry, honey..." He said softly, kissing her forehead gently.
She blushed a little but smiled up at him reassuringly. "It's fine. No, really, it's fine!" She said when he tried to kiss her more, having to push him away playfully as she laughed, before frowning a little. "But... What should we do with the tickets we bought?"
Norman thought for a moment as he nodded. "Hmm. That's true. We already paid for them, so..."
...
10:37 PM, the 29th day of the 11th month at Mossdeep Space Center Celestial Observatory.
A loud and terrifying alarm rang throughout the building's walls, signaling something was wrong. The lead scientist ran to the control pad to see what was the matter. "Professor Cozmo! It's... It's a disaster!" A scientist called out to him in fright, glancing over as he came to the computer desk. "The meteoroid's trajectory— it's suddenly changed direction! Now it's on a collision course with our planet!"
"WHAT!? Recheck the data!" Professor Cozmo ordered in anger and confusion. "Update the course calculations and confirm the new trajectory!"
"Target locked on!" A female scientist yelled from her computer desk. "Confirming the meteoroid's new expected trajectory now..." She clicked and typed furiously, before glancing over to Cozmo. "According to the numbers, it should make impact... Somewhere southwest of Sootopolis, on a small island off Route 131!"
He put a hand to his chin, trying to wrap his head on exactly what was happening. "But changing trajectories mid-flight... It's almost like it's alive."
"But Professor, what should we do? WHAT DO WE DO!?" The scientist from before yelled in panic, extremely frightful by the sudden turn of events.
"Calm yourself, man!" The Professor ordered.
"Y-y-yessir..."
Cozmo sighed and tried to think. "...Hmmm. So it's come to this."
...
Elsewhere... A woman dressed in a Team Aqua uniform stood on a strange building, a Whismur standing beside her.
"... Looks like I won't be needing THIS..." She said to herself aloud. "Hiyyup!" She threw off her disguise to reveal the outfit she wore underneath, stretching her arms a bit with a sigh of relief. "Phew! That's sooo much better! Ooooh, I feel so free!" She exclaimed happily to herself. "That uniform got pretty stinky after a while! And all sweaty, too!"
The Whismur nodded its head in agreement. "Murrrm!"
The woman turned around and smiled happily at her Pokémon. "Ohhh, my adorable little Aster~! Are you happy to see me looking like myself again, hmm~?" She asked happily, petting Aster's head as she giggled. "Ahhh, you're just too darned cute! Like always!"
