Chapter 7: You Can't Break a Promise

Author's Note: I know this doesn't really have anything to do about Wally, but I simply had to write down the stuff for the Delta Episode! >~< ^^; It was too hard to resist. Besides, this helps keep the story going so it isn't too boring.

But I will admit that I totally started crying while I was writing this because of the music that played when Zinnia started to talk about the sky and while I was typing (Y/n)'s response to her question. ;w;

Tbh, I think Zinnia just took the spot of my favorite female character XD I could understand what she meant about looking up at the sky when things are tough. I always look at the sky when I think of my grandmother, who passed away a little over a year ago, and imagine that she's cheering me on.

Having experienced that myself plenty of times, made me able to really describe what (Y/n) felt when she was sad or alone. It's kinda funny how characters that aren't "real", are the ones that truly understand things such as that, isn't it?

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this chapter, and shed tears like I did. XD

After I had reached Steven in Rustboro City, I was informed of the horrible tragedy that would soon befall the entire planet... A large meteorite was headed our way, and if it hit the Earth, then all living things would perish... Once again, the world was in danger, and I had been called to help save it from this horrible end.

I spent the most of the day traveling to every corner of Hoenn, collecting meteorite shards for Devon Corp. Shortly after I had collected all we needed, it was destroyed by the hands of Zinnia, the woman responsible for stealing the Key Stones from Brendan and Wally. With the fate of the planet at risk, I followed her all the way to the Sky Pillar.

It was there that Zinnia told me the story of the Dracnoids and of the great Rayquaza. With each floor that I reached, I could slowly understand why she was doing these things. Finally, I reached the top of the tower, where she awaited for me with Aster by her side. From afar, they looked like any regular trainer and Pokémon simply enjoying the beautiful night sky and chatting as if nothing was the matter.

I walked towards the center of the tower's platform, where Zinnia and Aster soon stood in my way. We both stared at one another, everything silent except for the loud sound of the blowing wind around the tower, before she finally broke the silence.

"Welcome to the Dragonhark alter." She spoke in a serious voice. "(Y/n). You know what I am trying to do here by now, don't you?"

I nod my head as I stare back at Zinnia. "Yes, I do. You plan on summoning Rayquaza to this world to destroy the meteoroid heading towards Hoenn, don't you...?" I ask with a sad yet angry look in my eyes.

"That's right. I do plan to do exactly as you said. That is my... It is our duty." She said with a smile.

"That still doesn't justify your actions, Zinnia! You destroyed the only device we had to stop the meteoroid! What if Rayquaza doesn't come!? Then everyone will die!!" I yell in anger, the thought of my family and friends all perishing bringing me to the brink of tears.

"It won't fail!!" She yelled back, catching me by surprise. "It can't fail..." Zinnia trailed off and looked longingly up at the sky. "Ever since I was a little girl, I have always turned my eyes up to the sky. When I was so full of uncertainty that I felt my heart might crushed by it... When I was so grief-stricken and alone I thought my heart might break of it..."

She smiled softly and closed her eyes as she looked up at the sky. "I turned and looked up there...so that my tears would never, ever fall."

I stared at her, stunned by her words. I stayed silent, not knowing how to respond to her story. After a few moments, she then turned towards me and smiled even more. "What about you? Have you ever had to do something like that?"
