We drove for a while, I don't even think we were in town anymore but we finally made it to our destination. It was a café, small but quaint that had a home vibe to it. It wasn't busy at all, maybe a couple people inside but what really caught my attention was all the books lining the inside. Asher took my hand in his and brought me inside.

Inside there were booths or tables and the tables had floral designs them. There was dim lighting, a fireplace which was lit and kept the place pretty warm, bookshelves lined the whole walls and there was a menu to order off. Asher took me over to the hostess who took us to a booth where she took our drinks.

Asher got a coffee and I followed suit because I felt really tired. While she was getting our drinks we looked over the menu. There wasn't anything fancy, the fanciest thing I saw on the menu was steak.

"Are you going to order a salad?" Asher asks me and I raise my eyebrows at him.

"No."

He lets out a deep breath, "Oh thank God, if I have to deal with one more girl worrying about calories I'm going to stop taking you out!"

I laugh, "Yeah no way. I'm getting a burger and fries."

He nods, "I'll get the same."

We place our order and then wait for it. As we wait, Asher takes one of the kid's menus and does the maze. He keeps messing up on the easiest part and it's pretty hilarious seeing him hit the wall every time he tries to get out. I notice a boy two tables over having the same problem but the boy is about five not eighteen like Asher. Asher groans as he hits another wall and officially gives up. I grab the pen and in a couple seconds make out the maze.

"You're welcome," I say, making Asher pout but he loses that pout quickly as he sees the food approach. I never realized how hungry I really was until that burger came in front of me. I don't think I've ever tasted a burger this good before, or maybe I'm just starving. When we finish eating, Asher takes me over to the book section. They have almost every novel known to man. I think this what heaven looks like.

"Pride and Prejudice!" I say in excitement. I loved this book just as much as I loved the movie. Asher takes it from my hands and reads the back, shooting me a confused look.

"You like this?"

I nod, "Yeah it was basically one of the first books I ever really read. I own almost every book by Jane Austen, I think she's just an amazing author."

He nods, "So you recommend it?"

I shrug, "If you're into a book where love doesn't define a woman then go for it."

Asher nods, tucking the book under his arm. We go through the rest of the books, letting Asher know which books I like which he puts under his arm. I was talking about the Lord of the Rings trilogy because I loved the movie. Honestly the movies were better because the books were pretty slow and hard to read. Asher asks about the Maze Runner and I tell him an unpopular opinion.

"I mean the Maze Runner never really intrigued me. I read the summary and it just didn't peak my attention and, even though, the movie had Dylan O'Brien, it just didn't seem interesting enough to me. Although like I said, that's a pretty unpopular opinion because a lot of people like the series but I just didn't," I tell him and he nods his head, putting the book back. I did tell him to check out the Mortal Instruments series, the movie didn't do it justice but the movies never do, he grabs the whole series. He's going to be wasting a lot of money today and I feel bad.

When we go to buy all the books, the total comes to over a hundred dollars. Why are books so expensive? Like I know they're magical beings and everything but do they have to make me broke? Not to mention, the one book I chose, The Red Queen, Asher wouldn't even let me pay for it. He refused to let me pay for my book because he felt weird letting a girl pay. I find that very sexist but before I could argue, he snatched the book out my hand and had it ring up. I guess this one time, I'll let it pass.
