Angel in Los Angeles

Chapter 9

I honestly didnt know what to say to him. I racked my brain on a legitmate reason as to why I was all the way down in LA.

"Holy crap your real!" Austyn piped up touching his arm. He gave her an awkward look before looking back at Blake and I. "Sorry," she said "Um, Im Melaines friend we were just visiting my er- Cousins." She gave Dayton a look but he nor Blake reacted to the lie.

I nodded. Alli finally looked up from her phone. 

"Oh Alli this is her, The one I was telling you and mum about." Cody said. I felt honored that he would tell his mum about me.

Alli smiled widely. "You? He talks about you non-stop, Im suprised he hasn't written a song about you!" 

I blushed. "yet you havent bothered to call?" I asked 

His smile disappeared. "I-I didnt think we actually had a relationship and the timinig..." He trailed off. I looked down at the ground. "Im really glad your here though," He said cupping my chin forcing me to look into his eyes. I smiled.

Austyn had lead to Dayton and Blake down to the water to explain what was going on. After they left she returned with a white paper in her fingers. Shot her a glance she shot me one back notifying me not to ask. I figured it was Daytons number.

I rocked on my heels and faced Cody. He was still grinning . "So...what did I miss?" He asked 

I shook my head "you dont even know, dude."

"The fanbase is going insane trying to find out who you are."

We began walking up to the boardwalk along with Austyn and Alli.

"Schools been chaos, my teachers hate me now because Im a distraction. " I said sarcasticaly.

"Im so sorry." he said.

"No worries, it happens" 

He laughed 

"Not really" Austyn cut in.

I let out a laugh and shrugged.

We sat in the center of the board walk.

"Where are you staying?" Cody asked.

It totally slipped my mind. "we dont have a place yet, but we should probably go to a motel" I said to austyn.

"Why not stay with us?" Alli asked  "Mum would be thrilled to meet you and dads out of town with Tommy." 

I glanced at Cody. His eyes bright, but he didnt say anything. Austyn looked as if she were about to cry.

"If its not a bother I suppose we could."

"Yes!" Cody  and Austyn exclaimed.

Alli,  and I laughed.

"Oh! I brought your car." I said to cody handing him the keys. He tackled me in a hug. 

"Thank you!" he said.

"How did you guys get here?" Austyn asked 

"We were with Matt, but he had to leave."

We hopped in the car and Cody sped to Manhatten Beach.

"What if your mum doesnt like us?" I asked nervously.

He laughed "She loves everyone" He said kissing my nose.

Butterflies swirled in my stomach. the feelings came flooding in.

We walked into the living room. Johnny cash was playing from the TV . It smelt like pina coloda and marc jacobs perfume. I could hear Angie working in the kitchen. Cody rubbed his palms against my shoulders as he stood behind me. "Youre okay " he whispered picking up my anxiouse vibes.

Angie was leaning over the counter humming along to 'ring of fire' while she worked on slicing a pineapple. She glanced up "Oh! Hello!" SHe said quitely, her eyes glistened with a motherly emotion in them.

"Mum, This Melaine." Cody said to her lightly guiding me towards her.

Her expression shifted to confused back to the mother look. "I Thought you said she was in Oregon."

"She lives there but she was visiting her cousins, we met at Huntington." 

Angie nodded "Welll welcome! she said kindely. I would hug you  but..." She glanced down at her hands 

I giggled "Its okay"

"This is austyn" Alli said "Melaines friend"

"welcome as well." she smiled 

"Can they stay here for awhile?" Cody asked.

"Of course!" She said focusing back on the fruit bowl. "um they can crash with Alli?"

"Yeah totally works out!" Alli said.

Cody carried our bags up to Allis room. "sorry about it being a tight fit, its smaller then the old house."

"No. its perfect!" I said. 

I ended up with the window bench and Austyn on the floor .

Austyn and i skipped dinner and went straight to bed. we were wiped from the trip down and needed a good rest.
