I slid into the front seat of Cody's 1967 289 convertable mustang. He cranked up the radio and stepped on the gas.
"Where do you want to go?" He asked.
"Anywhere but here," The wind blew my hair back. After a moment of silence I turned to him. "What are you doing here?" I asked resting my arm out the window.
He shrugged. "It drove me insane the way the night ended was bitter, sweet Ya know?" He drove with one hand on the wheel the other resting on his upper thigh.
I nodded "I agree, I'll have to admit it was the second best day of my life,"
He furrowed his brows "Second? Whens the first?"
I smiled "The first time I met you."
His smile widened. "Oh yeah?"
I nodded. I adjusted the collar of his denim jacket.
"My frist show in Portland hmmm" he sighed as he tapped the steering wheel. "Lets see I was 13? Yeah I remember"
"2 years later"
He took the exit leading to downtown Portland. "I'm bored" He said with a cheeky smile. "Whats there to do around.
I shrugged "I dont know,Theres a mall" I suggested
He thought for a moment "Okay"
After parking he opened the car door for me "Madame." He said holding his hand for me.
I giggled "Merci" hand in hand we walked into the mall.
"Now what?" He asked
I shrugged. Making my way over to the mechanical pony. I laughed as cody took a picture of me. As he focused on his phone I watched over his shoulder as he made it look like a wicked vintage photo. "Instagram worthy?" He asked
"Yeah!" Thats awesome.
"Do you want a smoothie or something?" He asked sticking his phone back into his pocket.
I nodded
"2 strawberry banana smoothies" He ordered tossing a 10 dollar bill on the counter. We sat down at a table sipping our juices
"Wait is that Cody Simpson?"
my heart dropped to my stomach and I looked over at Cody. He was already standing up. "Act natural" He murmered taking my hand. We quickly walked past the fountain and up the stairs into the Lousi Vuitton store. I watched the girls stalk us past the fountain. Cody was sipping his smoothie nervously.
"Can I help you?" I turned around to see a pumpouse old man standing directly behind us. He peered at me over his artist glasses. HIs grey hair pulled back into a stubby ponytail.
"Um-um-" I stuttred turning to Cody for help but he was to busy watching the girls making there way up the stairs.
"You do know there is no eating aloud in our store?" He lightly shoved us both out.
"Over there!" the girl yelled "She had accumulated a posse of about 30 girls. They ran towards us with there phones.
"I cant do a meet and greet now!" he growled frustrated. "I need a cover up to make them think it was a mistake." He said out of breath from jogging. He pulled me down a deserted hall and pressed me aginst the wall with his body. I sat out of breath watching as the girls went by. He looked at me our noses nearly touching. He smiled and pressed his lips to mine. "mmm banana" He said after he broke.
I giggled licking my lips. He backed up from me and got his phone and tweeted something.
"There. I told them I was hanging with my family Manhatten."
I frowned "Cody, Its not like you to lie to your fans."
His face went blank "I wont do it again" he murmered pressing me up against the wall again.
I looked at him seriously.
"Please forgive me?" he pleaded in a little kid voice.
I cracked a smile. "fine. youre forgiven"
He laughed "Good" he released me.
"We probably shouldnt stay here" I said tossing my smoothie into the trash.
"youre probably right" he peaked his head out. "Coast is clear'
I took his hand and we escaped effortlessly.
"where to next?" He asked as we sat in the parking lot.
I grabbed my phone and Dialed my Aunts number. She lived in camas Washington not to far from Portland.
"Hey" She answered "Whats going on?" She asked
"Hey aunt Alex, Im in Portland with my friend Cody and wanted to know If we could drop in?"
"Oh Cody huh? Be sure to tell him I might mistake him for Cody simpson. "She said sarcastically
I chuckled lightly "yeaaah, Funny storie. It is him"
She was silent for a moment. "Get over here!" She said.
I laughed "We are on our way"
She met us out side. Cody stood awkwardly at my side. She pulled me in for a hug.
"Its so nice to meet you finally!" She said "I used to chase you around with Melaine everywhere!'
He laughed. I felt a wave of emberassement wash over me.
Come inside!" she said
I took a seat in the living room on her couch and pulled cody down next to me.
After she asked all her questions about us she told us to crash there.
"Oh no" I said gazing down at my phone. It was going up to three. School would be out and austyn and mom would be freaking out.
"Hello?" My mom answered
"Hey,Whats up?" I asked
"Nothing" She said cautiously "Whats up with you."
"Oh well cody got me from school and we stopped by to see aunt Alex"
"Tell her you guys are crashing here" Alex whispered
"Aunt Alex has invited us to stay the night." I said slowly watching codys reaction.
He nodded politley.
"Okay" she said slightly annoyed "I will talk to you later"
After she hung up a text from Austyn came in
"Melaine youre practically a celebrity at school"
I ignored it. "Its chill with your parents if you stay for awhile?" I asked him
He shrugged " Im on break for awhile"
After dinner we started a movie. AUnt Alex had gone to bed halfway through. After I heard her go up the stairs cody pulled me closer to him. I rested my head on his shoulder and listened to him breath. As I drifted off to sleep I felt his lips against my cheek. "Good night ,Melaine" He whispered.
