Angel in Los Angeles

chapter 11

"Good morning" I opened my eyes to see Alli standing in the doorway still in her pajamas. Her bonde hair was piled on her head in a messy bun.

I sat up and pulled my hair back into a low ponytail. I was emberassed I was in Codys bed only wearing spandx and an oversized in-n-out tshirt. Alli didnt seem to mined. 

"Breakfast is ready!" She said happily. I slid out of his warm comfeter and quickly changed into denim shorts  and a grey tshirt with white vans. Austyn was leaning on the island with a bowl of yogurt infront of her. She was talking to angie.

"Good morning!" Angie said sweetly as she handed me a bowl.

"Thank you." I said politely. I wondered if she new where I had spent the night.

"Hey Mel, where wereyou last-"

Alli cut her off with a sharp glance.

"uh...when we were at the Concert."

I gave her a confused look. I guessed Angie didnt know.

"Oh yeah tell me about that night you and codes met!" Angie said clueless as to the cover up.

"oh-Im not really sure what happned before I woke up, but he took me to get food and yea..."

"And yea...?" Austyn asked in disbelief . "Thats not what you told me! what about the arcade? It was practically a date." She told angie.

I smiled trying to hide my emberassment. Angie just chuckled. "speak of the devil" Angie said as Cody walked through the door shaking out his wet hair.

"Surf was surfey today" He said excitedly.

I handed angie my bowl. "Thank you for breakfast" I said 

"No problem do you want anything else?" She asked.

" oh no thank you."

"Do you guys wanna go on a run with me?" Alli asked.

"Ill go. Austyn, you comming?"

She shook her head "I should get ready."

I made my way up stairs and changed into my work out clothes. I met alli downstairs. We began trotting along the shore, About a half a mile she turned to me. "So you and cody huh?" 

I didnt say anything as I focused on breaathing.

"I think youre really good for him, Hes been really happy since he got back from tour," She said out of breath,

I smiled widely "Thank you" I didnt know what else to say, "He makes me happy as well"

"I can tell! You know ..last night"

I felt my cheekes heat up.

She giggled "Its okay"

I relaxed a little "Im afraid of everyone finding out."

"Yeah , the fanbase was insnae after the picture. Even I was curious. But I like you and  I think the girls will like you as well."

We made it back to the house . I jumped in the shower before Cody saw me, Once I got out I put on the same outfit I had on for breakfast. I stood infront of allis mirror brushing out my hair. Cody walked past then saw me. 

"Hey how was the run?" He asked leaning against the door frame.

"Refreshing," I said still focused on my hair. out of the corner of my eye I watched him shift. I turned to him. A slight smile crossed his lips.

"And how did you sleep?" He asked slowly. I couldnt help smiling.

"Never better" I set the hair brush down and sat upon allis bed.

"So..I was thinking...." he began

"About..?" I urged

"About your voice, I think Matt should hear."

My heart sped up. "I-I cant sing" was all I managed to get out. I wanted to show other people but my voice was something that worked when Im not under immense pressure and doing something like that would just not end well. I began to get upset and cody could see it.

"You were amazing last night. I cant get it out of my mind." He said sitting next to me.

I didnt say anything,

"I only sing around people Im comfertable with, which is rarely anyone, Not even Austyn has heard me" 

He sighed, "What if we just recorded a demo with known around but me and you, Ill give it to matt and get his opinion. No pressure."

I contimplated the pros and cons. The worst that could happen is they would completely hate my voice. I closed my eyes  "Fine" I agreed.

"Yes!" He said excitedly wrapping me in his arms. I giggled "Lets do it tomorrow morning?" 

"Okay"  I said excitedly
