Years ago a man and his crew were picking ice so there ship could sail through. A well known hard worker was really at it on his job.
"Gale knock it off it won't brake no matter how hard you chip at it!" A crew worker shouted.
"Ah give me some slack, I may be getting in my old ages but I ain't old yet." Gale shouted back. He struck again at the ice making a sudden crack, and that's when he found me.
An egg about the size of a pillow which was very heavy. With such an interesting thick shell of white, silver, and all shades of blue. So interesting yet so weird, he picks it up and takes it back to the ship showing the guys.
"What in the world is that thing?" The captain asked looking at it.
"Let's crack it!" A crew member said. He got out an ax, ready to swing. But Gale stops him and everything is silent.
"Now fellows lets not do anything crazy like opening someones child out of it's birth place. Lets just put it back in the ice where we found it." Gale said. The captain didn't agree, he figured it was an artifact that could make him millions, with sure a rare shell it would still make a huge buck or two. He takes his glove off about to touch the smooth looking shell. Gale slaps it away in a protective matter.
"No one shall touch a mother's egg. She may come back and furious." He snaps and begins to leave the ship with the egg. So strange he thought, it was so cold. The water began to sway violently back and forth, men were shouting for him to run back and the ice cracked. Water was rushing like crazy, while the ice sunk to the bottom. Gale ran for his life trying to get back on the ship but the ice was too weak, collapsing and dropping Gale into the freezing waters. It as though the water pulled him in the more he struggled and sunk in. There he opened his eyes to a large glowing woman.
"Can you hear?" She said in a soft voice moving her hand to him which was much colder then the water itself. When he gasped out of surprise she smiled. The egg sunk down to her hand and she moved it to him. "Please watch out for my child, raise it as if it were your own young. Please protect my child, and in due time it will protect you. Fate has chosen you as our wise leader. Please do not disappoint." She said as the glow of her hand turned into ice and her figure turned into a monstrous creature roaring. Gale shouted as he pushed out of the water onto the ice. He struggles to keep himself on the thick ice and turns to see the egg sitting there. He sighs as he starts to see the ship shouting for him.
"I'm over here!" Gale shouted, he grabs the egg and took it home with him. He sat it in the living room right in the middle and rapped a blanket around the bottom. Curious and worried he takes his glove off about to touch the shell. Taking a deep breathe and puts his hand on the shell, a striking pain shout through his finger tips through his veins. Like a burning cold feeling, as if he had put dry ice through his veins. After the pain subsided he lifted his hand, there was no bruise what so ever on his hand. Nothing that showed the pain he just experienced, but he had the urge to touch it again. As if it was like a call for help, like the life in the egg was going to fade if he didn't. Never in his life has he ever felt so cautious, he tries to touch it again and nothing happened. Confused he touches it a couple more times and again nothing happened, as if the eggs' life had disappeared. It was still extraordinary.
The next day he bought a book on eggs hoping it would be of some help, but nothing would bring back that feeling of life again. "What do I do to get you to get me a sign." He sighed. When he leaves for work he made sure the egg was safe in the living room surrounded by blankets and pillows. He had hoped that fate made a wrong decision, the egg was not making any weird signs anymore. Silently the egg starts to beam lights from the inside from one side to another, it cracks.
As Gale tried his hardest to get the fish on board of the ship, a striking pain engulfed his hand, his heart racing like crazy causing to fall to his knees. The crew told him to go home and he agrees thinking he should see a doctor, it was like the time he touched the egg only a bit worse. Before he opens the the door he hears a soft cry. He opens the door and runs to the living to find the egg broken in pieces. Panicking as he looks thought the egg shells, how could he had been so careless he thought. Fate has chosen the wrong person he thought sighing. Another cry fills the room and he looks under the thick blanket, a baby. I was born healthy and strong, he picked me up halting my tears. It was obviously I didn't look human but I didn't look like a monster either. My birth was in my half form (half human half dragon), simply because he touched my shell making me appear like as well as part of my family. I was still curled up in his arms, my skin not as cold as ice but still cold, and a bit pale.
"Welcome home." Gale whispered to me sitting on the couch. I opened my icy blue eyes to see him.
