As Yoshiro said those words. I was scared for my life as he tightened his grip. I didn't know what to do and Maximus's leg got hurt so he couldn't move. He just looked into my eyes and stared deeply as if he was looking for something.
"That's why I am sorry Father, but I am not with you. I'm will the person I really care about." Yoshiro said running to the edge of the roof dragging me with him.
He was on my side..... I felt ice cold tears fall down my cheek with a great feeling of warmth. He trusted me and choose me instead of his own family. My chest felt like I was free from everything as I grabbed Maximus making us jump off the roof. I began my transformation the moment my feet was in the air.
Everyone ran after as with their weapons, but it was too late. I changed into my full form flying up with Maximus on my back. Yoshiro stayed at the edge of the roof fighting off the guards from trying to shoot me down. I roared at them making them back away threatening to release a blaze of fire. I don't wanna leave without Yoshiro, he was my only friend. But Yoshiro wouldn't take the chance to come with me. "Get out of here! I promise to see you again!" Yoshiro shouted. I leaned my head to him but he made me go and Maximus told me it was for the best.
And I flew up high from them fast so I could lose them in the clouds. I could hear Maximus screaming, holding on me as much as they can. When I hit the clouds I knew the timing was great, there was another snow storm coming soon. I could hide when the storm hits, giving me enough time to get out of here.
I flew high up for a while feeling like I got boulders were lifted off my body. Being in this form, my real self felt so great and the air hitting me was like I could stop time and be free. I felt the Maximus beginning to sit on my back, trying to stay on me as I flew through the sky. He was okay after a while after complaining how high we are in the sky.
I felt a bit sad, Yoshiro had stayed behind. I didn't know why but I must trust him, it's only fair since he put his trust in me. He trusted a dragon, though it's in his blood to slay me to protect the people that are like him. But he choose to a different path. I looked back in the corner of my eye seeing Maximus pulling out a small map for himself.
"We've got a lot to talk about Angel. But we have to get out of the air and head underground. They can track you easily in the air. Understand?" Maximus said. I nodded my head and stopped to wait for a direction to go into. If I couldn't go up then I must go down, straight down. But where would I go? Maximus tugged my thin line of fur trying to direct me but I got angry not liking the tug. I flipped him up and put him on my back closer to my neck. I guess being a rider for the first time has it's down sides.
"Fine have it your way!" He shouted. I growled puffing smoke from my nose into his face. We ended up arguing and I growled at him till we were silent. I swear he's the worst sometimes and I could drop him like he was nothing. But he had saved my life and he was trying to help, we're a couple of opposites. "Look we can agree to disagree all day but we need to go now! But you gotta listen to me and follow everything I tell you."
I huffed and settled my anger, he didn't tug my fur, instead he pointed the way. He pointed down near the subway and I admittedly turned half dragon letting us fall down to the ground. I was only messing with him a bit as I open my wings grabbing him and flying faster to his destination. I was listening to every screaming word he said taking us down the sewers flying inside he said to stop.
It was dark once we stopped, no light able to reach this part of the underground sewers of the city. I was able to light the way as Maximus walked us to his secret part of the city. Passed all the pipes are some empty space, some you'd have to find, it's like a maze in here. I was deeply excited walking down here, it was nice and cold. We end up in a small looking area with lots of computers and shelves of old books. He sat me at a table where he handed me a piece of paper and pen. "I hope you handwriting isn't terrible along with your spelling."
"Says the guy who had type his essay cause his handwriting looked like child first learning to write." I wrote back sticking my tongue out at him. He rolled eyes at me and sighed. We really didn't get along too well.
"Anyway I did many studies on you, I even had Uncle Gale's help with my research. Along with some other help. But let's get to the point, you need to get out of the city first of all." Maximus said. I was a bit shocked, he had been researching on me for a while now. I explained how I planned on going back to my first home in Antarctica, which sounded pretty understandable to Maximus. I could lose them there and wouldn't be able to find me so easily. I could also live freely as I wanted, with some help from Maxi with helping me provide a job maybe.
"That's not a bad idea. But you can't just fly there by plane, and flying my wings will get you shoot down like a bird. We need to get you there without anyone seeing you. They must have your human form on the most wanted list now on the news for everyone to point you out." Maximus said. He started researching on the computer. I looked down thinking to myself, unable to speak aloud as I always wanted.
"Io...sh....y...." I mumbled under my breath. Maximus walked over to me over hearing me.
"You tried to speak! You almost said something too." Maximus said. I huffed starting to write on the paper.
"I don't want to leave without Yoshiro being safe from them as well. He's a friend and he saved us from being attacked and cornered." I wrote. Maximus rolled his eyes.
"Look you may not see this but he's a knight, he goes by the knight code. That also means slaying a dragon by all costs. He must have done it to be just like Maxwell. Be really close to you and betray you in a snap." Maximus said, I roared at him hitting the table away. Yoshiro was nothing like Maxwell, he was my friend and he he choose his enemy rather an alley. I wasn't going anywhere without Yoshiro.
He may be a knight but I know in his heart, is not just a knight, he's a kind person.
And he's special to me.
