I flew back to the hide out of the sewers. Though going through the sewers I was in my human form. But once I got into the big space I decided to rest in a corner in my half dragon form with my tail wrapped around me. I was a pretty light sleeper these days and I could hear Maximus and Yoshiro.
"How did it feel to be a lab rat?" Maximus said sitting in his chair.
"Very funny, so is there another plan? They will find us here if we stay too long?" Yoshiro asked, I heard Maximus laugh. He's been laughing a bit ever since we got Yoshiro got out. I think something in his head snapped or something.
"You should know Lab rat, your father is very smart. He's also just insane, but he should have told you. Even Angel should know." Maximus replied. I could hear him typing on the computer, who knows what he's up to right now.
"Besides the fact my Dad wants a dragon is all I really know. I only trained with my sword and studied in school. I guess he didn't trust all that well. I was more like my Mom that way." Yoshiro sighed. I had forgotten that humans would have a male and female parent for a slight second. Tammy was a hard working woman and we didn't really bonded as mother and daughter. So I never really thought about having that figure in my life. So what happened to Yoshiro's mother.
I lift my head from my arms looking at the boys. I don't think they notice I was awake.
"Oh your mother huh? I heard she had cancer, sorry about such news." Maximus said but Yoshiro didn't seemed too bothered by it. Maximus continued to ramble on about random facts of the dragon race. Well the facts about the fire region of dragons, which were much more dominate then my region. Not a pretty sight to me.
"As for an Ice dragon like Angel here, she may so happened to be the last ice dragon. It seems to be the only case since no dragon has set foot here for so long. Fire dragons fear the ice dragons. So they might have went at a huge battle of some kind." Maximus stated.
"Why they're all seem the same to me, a dragon is a dragon." Yoshiro said, but even I knew he was wrong.
"Sad even you don't get it. It's like with us beings, though we are all humans, we are all different by many things like race and religion. So think Ice dragons like a block of dry ice, now sit it in some fire. Guess what will happen? Go on guess."
"The fire goes out?"
"The fire goes out!! Fire dragons know they can't really harm them straight forward without getting themselves deeply hurt. So why not hurt the source."
"The source?"
"Yes the source, where they come from. And what they can't live without, a nest, a home, and a queen. Like destroying a queen with many animals or someone destroying someone's house. So they must have done something to drive the ice dragons down to nothing. So in conclusion, Angel might have been thrown here out of protection of the race or just a mistake. Anything is possible at this point." Maximus says sighing.
Yoshiro fidgets a bit and sighs as well, I guess they were tired. I have made a mess of things just by being born, naturally I don't want to but trouble follows a creature like myself.
"So where are you guys gonna go?" Yoshiro asked.
"Home. It'll be out of your father's reach. But we should try to leave before her birthday. Things will get complicated when she gets older, especially since she is not meant to live in this world." Maximus stated. He goes through his files in a flash-drive. It's fun cause it's a pig flash drive.
"What do mean? What happens on her birthday?" Yoshiro asks, he seemed very serious now. But didn't blame him cause Maximus seemed serious about the situation too. What would happen.
I guess I made a sound of a whimper cause looked at me seeing my worried face. Maximus stretches and yawns. "Alright everyone get some sleep. We need to get some rest."
I nod and curl up some more then sleep.
-Dream..... I think-
I wake up in the dark it seems. I have no clue where I am, and I look around to see myself in the arm of a bigger dragon. She was amazingly beautiful.... and I knew it was female... A dragon always knows who her parents are just by one touch. It's how we are linked, and how we stay in touch. If I were hurt, she was know some how.
But the female drag- my mother, was holding me close to her. She seemed happy as she hummed to me keeping me happy. The cave we were in was pretty huge, crystals of ice covered the walls and decorated the floor. But the temperature was prefect, so cold I felt the frost bite, which tickled my nose.
A male dragon walks in, he was dark and had cold eyes. He walked towards us and greets my mother. She seemed to love him, I guess I did too as he playfully rolled me over with a simple push. I giggled and fought with him which wasn't much, he was much stronger then me and blocked anything I did.
That's when I blew some fire knocking him over. But I wasn't suppose to do that. I always thought the ice dragons blew fire, the blue fire that was stronger then any other. But no that wasn't right at all. My Mother pulled me into her arms growling at the male dragon who was now on the edge of attacking me out of instincts.
"Don't you dare!" Sh growled at him. He huffed and took a moment to relax. Then they look at me, a fire breathing ice dragon. Mother was very pleased, she said I was chosen.
........Chosen?
There was a celebration! As I laid beside my mother's belly, many other dragons like my father flew in the cave laying down something for me. Salmon, trout, crystals, diamonds, and other beautiful things. I happily tried to roar out to them but they laugh.
"Mama!" I squealed out with a roar. Everyone grows silent as my mother cries. My first word.
Soon I watched them fly around, but mother stayed beside me. I simply felt-
-Dream disrupted!-
"Angel get up! Get Up!" Maximus shouted at me packing a bag of his most important books. Yoshiro was in a hurry too.
I lifted my head tiredly as Maximus dragged me out his hide out. Yoshiro saw me not really waking up and picks me up quickly running through the sewers. That's when I saw the lights from behind us.
"There they are!" Someone shouted angrily.
Just when I felt at peace.....
