Partners in Crime

I was sleeping in the corner of the space Maximus had underground the city. Though the smell of slight sewer water didn't bother me. It was a little fresh in the amount of space. The smell of books had taken over and the sound of Maximus typing away at his computer kept me busy. He was going to help me get Yoshiro to safety, it didn't take long to convince him.

-Moments earlier-

"We're not risking your life for some boy who is a knight! K-N-I-G-H-T, knight! No I am not doing this." Maximus shouted. I understood why he was asking this way, but he didn't understand the connection I had with Yoshiro. I huffed and rolled my eyes.

"Look I'm going to help Yoshiro with your help or not. He's stuck with his father back there and he could be in huge trouble!" I wrote back to him. Maximus rolled his eyes in disbelief.

"I won't allow it! We've gotten too far to let you waste it on some boy who is the son of that crazy lunatic of a scientist!" Maximus shout. But I wouldn't hear it, I growled madly walking to him snarling as smoke left my mouth. Maximus backed away bumping into the shelves of books. "I'm serious Angel! I'm doing it and you can't make me so knock it off!"

I can't make you? We'll see about that.

-Two minutes later-

There I was flying in the sky in my half dragon form holding Maximus only by his foot leaving him upside down. Not my fault he completely hates heights....

"Put me down! I hate you so much right now! Put me down, put me down!" Maximus shouted. So I let him go, watching him fall through the clouds going down. I fell with him and he was screaming his head off with great fear.

"Catch me! OH MY GOSH PLEASE! Angel!" He shouted. I looked at my nails pretending to not hear him and pulled out a note for him to read.

"You'll help me?" I wrote on it. Maximus read it and shook his head fast for a yes. I perked my ears up, I can't hear you Maximus.

"I'LL HELP YOU! PLEASE JUST CATCH ME!!" Maximus screamed. I grabbed him by his arm stopping our fall. He took his time to catch his breath, breathing heavily and his nerves going crazy. See that wasn't so hard...

-Back to the present-

Maximus was hacking cameras all over the city trying to find Yoshiro anywhere. It was getting late and I could tell Maximus was getting tired. I grabbed a blanket and put it around him, it was was surprisingly very cold down here. I bet it was going to snow very nicely on my birthday, it was so close too.

"Thanks." Maximus said. He shivered a bit holding the blanket around him tightly. I guess it was a little too cold for Maximus at the moment, since was in his regular clothes rather something thick to keep him warm.

I look at him and decided to make a hole in the wall, there was nothing on the other side, just now a hole in the wall. I then grabbed a chair throwing it in the hole, It's not the best fireplace, but it will do. I burn the chair and throw my random things in the hole keeping the fire going. Already I felt the temperature go up.

Maximus turned to see the fire and took a minute to either get mad or just forget about it. Maximus soon looked at the screen closely, "Ah Ha! Angel I found him!" Maximus shouted cracking his knuckles. I clapped happily looking at the screen, and there he was.

From what I could tell Yoshiro was stuck in a white room of his father's facilities, he sat in the corner calmly. Guards were outside the halls of the room he was in. I guess he tried to escape and had to get my guards to watch over him, or so no one could help him escape.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this. He may not even be in trouble." Maximus said. I put my hand on his shoulder with determination in my eyes. He was my friend and friends don't give up on each other. I nod to Maximus and he smirks. "Well let's get him out of there."

Soon we were on top of the H.R university, Maximus slides off my back and hacks his way in the roof door entrance. From there we sneaked through the building to the control room which only had two guards on the outside and inside of the room. Which we knocked out and locked them in the janitors closet.

"Alright here's how this is going to go. I'm going to shut down this whole place for as long as I can, but I need you to get that guy and meet me on the roof before Dr. Silver and his crew find out about us. Okay?" Maximus said. I shook my head yes. Maximus hacks the main computer shutting down the building's power as I ran fast to where Yoshiro was at.

It was hard to not get noticed with everyone freaking out about the power out in the building. Many of the students were in the middle of a project. Oops hehe, sorry guys but I got more important things to do that involve my life. I get to the hall where the guards are still standing at, seem to be unfazed by the power out. One turns and sees me getting the other's attention towards me.

I gotta make this quick, and my time was tight. I took a very deep breath and let it out calmly. I needed a big one to get these guys moving, and I never had done such big one before either. The guards start to walk towards me and I breath in deeply.

"Angel?" Yoshiro said from the small window the door. The guards start to go towards me faster and I release a large flare of fire at them. I continue to do this till their running for back up. I look at Yoshiro and punch the lock off the door letting Yoshiro out the room.

He hugs me tightly, "I thought I told you to go." I hug him back smiling. I see Maximus sliding to this hallway.

"Knock it off! Angel we have to go now. So are you with us or not kid?" Maximus asked looking back.

"I got no where else to go so why not. Do you think we could get my stuff?" Yoshiro asked looking at me. Maximus grabbed our arms dragging us out the hallway as guards run around looking for us.

"If it's in our direction I don't care!" Maximus shouted running as we follow. Luckily we passed a dorm where his room was at and where he hid for the moment as Yoshiro packs a small bag of things. His room was very organized and put together, not really messy at all. I smiled finding a small dragon stuffed plushie, it sort of reminded me of the one Grandpa got for me for my birthday back when we lived in Antarctica.

"Alright we can leave through the back, but gotta fly up as soon as we got out there. Okay Angel?" Maximus said, and we leave at top speed.

Once we got got to the exit I flew off with Maximus and Yoshiro on my back, boy I never felt better. And once things were settled, I could hear Maximus laughing away his old nerves and I felt like laughing too.
